SOE appreciation thread

It still hasn't quite sunk in yet that Planetside 2 is real and is almost here for beta. I have been absolutely impressed by the open communications with the community. Thank you to the entire Planetside 2 team for all of your hard work and dedication! Hope to see you topside soon =D

Can't say enough about how well they treated us at the community day event.

People who showed up before SOE was ready to let us into the play room were treated to an impromptu tour of the development studios. We were introduced to and got to speak with many of the developers as they were at their desks working on the game.

Food and drinks were available throughout the day. Pizza, Candy, Sodas, Monster drinks..they really know their target audience.

When the numbers swelled beyond what they were expecting and people had to wait in lines outside they had tents brought over to protect our pasty gamer skins.

All day various developers were around and were all very interested in any feedback we had. They roamed the play room helping us work out the new controls. Some of us goofed up things on purpose to get Purrfectstorm over to help us.

Once again, thanks for a glorious day at SOE Studios!

Well this is a nice change of pace. With all the crying over the smallest recently, i was losing hope.

Indeed these devs and community managers deserve a big thank you. They are always around to chat with us, they do an awesome job to communicate back when we give feedback. Couldn't ask for a better team.

The teams community interaction is the best I've ever seen. Its better than blizzards, and they have a freaking army of community managers/reps.

I have to admit when they announced this game I was quite skeptical on how they would interact with the community but what they have done so far in that department is something I have yet to see in another game.


Truly amazing interaction with the community. You guys have really figured one of the key pieces to be able to make a game that have the possibility to become a success.

i am another SWG victim, and my hatred for soe was big when they screwed my favorite games.

and when ps2 got announced for the first time, i was very afraid they would do it again.
but then they totally opened up to us and listened to the community.
the communication got better and better and i think i am not the only one who thinks of the devs as friends although i never met one in person yet

i bet SOE was aware of its bad reputation and track record and finally grabbed the chance for a new beginning.
with planetside 2 SOE is rising from the ashes like the phenix!
and i haven´t seen any major FAIL for some time now.

Signed. Until we got to meet them at community day, I did not know how genuine these guys and gals really are. From QA up to Smed, everyone was so sincere and appreciated what we had to say. They really do care about their community. To summarize:

Definitely agree here. A big thank you to the Dev team for all your hard work. You guys have had to endure long days, sleepless nights, and countless hours of listening to feedback (good and bad). I definitely appreciate the 'hands-on' approach you guys are taking when it comes to the community.

I am psyched to see where the game goes from here.

I have been an active forum poster on the old EAUK forums and in the forums of several other games and i gotta tell you SOE really does the best job communicating with it's fan base.
Respect for the veterans,news every week,a lot of gameplay footage and explanation,activity on their own forums.
If only EA/DICE and any other company was like this the FPS market would of looked a lot better.
