ofc hes an asshole too for allowing such a stupid move but the main actor of the whole story was the girl, she tried the same with different people of the guild but only the idiotic raid leader fell for it..

I'll tell you why I like to play. Because it's all about the team, and I don't have lonely college kids running after me giving me some freaking sword they looted off a dragon in an attempt to impress me. I don't care that you had 10 hours to spare to raid.

You want to beat the other factions? Everyone works as a team, or you lose, it does not matter who you are.

I don't really make note of gender, though somehow all my online friends end up female. People are people, and they all die the same.

People will manipulate in their own way, regardless of gender. I would say it is more the fault of the victim for allowing themselves to be susceptible to it.

Women are better than men, full stop. EVERY single woman I have ever come across who plays games are mature, understanding and a pleasure to play with. I honestly do hope that many women gamers join planet side 2. The whole industry is massively under representative of women and the industry as a whole would be better off with more women in the ranks.

And if you are a girl and read this topic and you sit there in your chair wondering if you should start to play "any game at all" Then let me tell you that you shuld start off with: Planetside 2 if so.

The community, the faction war, the people, the fun, Its an awesome start if you think about gaming.

And dont get scared away now after reading all the other "faction war" threads. How much hate and how much anger there is against eatchother and the other faction, we are all friends on this forum, Beacuse you know what?

Its all just a game, A very deep game with a deep faction hate behind it, But ask any one - VANU - TR - SC the same thing and we answer the same.

They're not as a whole (ie. generalisation is bad ), it's just that for women, gaming is a much more niche activity at the moment, much like it was for men (or, well, everybody) around 20 years ago, when "CoD kiddies" and "l33t" were unknown terms.

So overall, I'd say it's more likely that if you do encounter a female gamer, she's going to be better, but it'll probably not be the same in 10 or so years so enjoy it while it lasts.

I'm from TAW.net - The Art of Warfare and at the moment we have +/-1400 members divided over 17 divisions and there are quite a few female players. I can recommend having female players in the group to every clan/outfit that promotes mature play. If there are players who cannot commit to the community standards, then they should not have applied in first case.

There will be always (new) male and female members who will find it hard to behave and crossing the line, but thats where the difficult role of real community leaders show up. Doing their job by correcting, warning and if really needed banning members from the large majority who can behave. I'm proud on my clan for being so professional on our Code of Ethics.

I meant women as a whole, not just gaming but in the world around us, I could give many facts but I don't want to bore you. Yeah, I agree on the niche activity and that needs to change, it needs to become a prominent hobby for women as it is for men. The culture needs to change to accommodate this and I cant help but think the industry and has a built in patriachical bias. 100% of women I have ever played with have been fantastic, while 90% of men (at best) equaled them.
