Considering there will be thousands of players on each map, I'm pretty confident with my chance of getting a key. As long as they have multiple maps/servers at once. Anyone know how many people applied for the beta?

Interesting. A Korean tester I know of said that this game seems to be well-optimized. He also said(on his computer), PS2 tech-test version runs a bit better than BF3 with both games on full-graphics setting. (with same resolution)

12ms from UK to NA - I highly doubt it.
I get approx 10ms to a UK site never mind a NA site. It will be more like 70-90ms to a North American Server. The extra 60ms or so will be for transmission times across the Atlantic. Pretty much impossible to get 12ms. Use http://speedtest.net/ to confirm but 12ms is utter nonsense. Ping does not depend on how much bandwidth you have. This is pretty much the same ping I had to US when I had ISDN....now I'm on 100Mb and it's almost exactly the same. |

[sheldon] Distance between London and New York = 5576 km according to http://www.distancefromto.net/distan...on/to/New+York The speed of light, being the fastet possible speed for the transmission of information is 299792 km/s. Just for the sake of easier calculation and considering there are shorter distances between other points of the UK and the US: use distance = 5000km and speed of light = 300000km/s. Then light would travel the distance in 16,6667 ms. Ergo a ping of 12ms is impossible without disproving the theory of relativity. [/sheldon] |
