Yeah, your graphical settings just aren't going to matter much, high or low. The graphics card is plenty.
However your CPU is in the range of the lowest core 2 quads and middle duos. Those struggle...and I can't imagine you're looking at more than 15-25 fps in a fight.

If you need a new Motherboard you could go one of these routes. PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks CPU: AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor ($129.99 @ Amazon) Motherboard: Asus M5A97 LE R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard ($64.99 @ Newegg) Total: $194.98 (Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.) (Generated by PCPartPicker 2012-11-29 23:29 EST-0500) ---OR--- PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks CPU: Intel Core i3-3220 3.3GHz Dual-Core Processor ($119.99 @ NCIX US) Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-B75M-D3H Micro ATX LGA1155 Motherboard ($74.99 @ Newegg) Total: $194.98 (Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.) (Generated by PCPartPicker 2012-11-29 23:34 EST-0500) Both would be significant upgrades for you. Last edited by MrSmegz; 2012-11-29 at 11:36 PM. |

I wouldn't do a new CPU/Mobo unless you've got about $300 to spend to get to an i5 or FX-8350.

Phenom II X6 1100T Looks like this is the Fastest you can go on that Motherboard. http://www.gigabyte.com/support-down....aspx?pid=3003 If you want to upgrade on that board this is probably your last sensible bet to get a CPU for it, at least new. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...D=3938566&SID= They are no longer making Phenom II's and the supply of them will only last so long. |

Can't really build a machine to play PS2 any better than something like this. Even a GTX660 or 7850 1GB would be fine for PS2 if you wanted to save some money. Build it in a mATX or ITX case to take it with you to play PlanetSide in more places!

I've installed the game and played a bit, getting about 15-25 FPS, and unable to play well because of it. I'm running all medium with flora and particles to low, tried all low but saw no improvement. My FPS is bottlenecked at the GPU.
Processor: Intel Core i5-2540M CPU 2.6 GHz OS: Windows 7 Memory: 8 GB Dual-Channel RAM Hard Drive: 98 GB free Video Memory: 2 GB Video Card: nVidia GeForce 555M It's a laptop, by the way. Anyways, looking to see if I can hope to run the game with a higher framerate or not. |

If you want more help on the issue, make a new thread or send me a PM, this isn't the thread for this type of discussion.
