I assume it has to do with game play restrictions of under slung weapons not working well in this games fast FPS style?
/QUOTE]

They can do it in Halo... Jus saying.

RIP MCG indeed.
I've lost my faith in SOE. Design team especially.

Oh dear. No underslung weapons because there's railings?

Isn't that like... a trade-off for having a heavier gun with massive firepower? It's not like you actually aim a HA either. If anything, they could give the underslung MCG a deployed function akin to the engineer weapons so it fires from behind a rail at the expense of movement (trade off!).

Oh dear that took 5 seconds to come up with. :x

Just a thought.
T-Ray doesn't want that because he thinks that railing blocking a lot of shots is an important enough reason to write it off completely.

The fact that it couldn't shoot over railings could have been a balancing point.

It's a close quarters, close-to-medium ranged weapon. The fact that it couldn't shoot all the way over railings is such a MINUSCULE PROBLEM it does not warrant removing the design completely. It became as generic as every other rifle.

At this pace it might as well mean we will not see any sort of experimental designs with weapons down the line because they're afraid, for some reason, that it wouldn't be fair if you're limited in some way, be it movement or LOS

I'm not a PS1 vet but I'm equally as disappointed because I wanted to run around with a freaking chain-gun firing from the hip.

There is no other way to fire a chain gun. Countless awesome movies have proved this.
