Do you mean Half Life 2? I don't see the relevance. It's a different game. Like saying I wouldn't buy a racing game because I already own tetris.

LOOOOL
Nono, that's not what i ment, I just know vehicles were possible in hl, but in hl2 they will be the same as in tribes or a race game, a very good point wich will allow modding peepz to make like a mafia-game with drive-by shootings, and this on maps who are large enought. HL maps were pretty little, making large fields or terrains something you never saw in hl. In HL2 I know, actually I think, that the maps would be at least 8 times as big as the usual ones. This means the perfect mod would be some mafia-game in 1920-30, a large city with NPC's (these are in devlopment by Roleplay HL, options to trade and talk), shops, drivable cars and unlimited mafia organisations (each player could start one)
This WILL be possible with hl2, and since i know it could be possible with Planetside also, it's really too bad they don't allow the making of mods. I just mean, we pay for changes but we can't do it ourselves. Those guys of valve (creators of hl) simply release a game with a damn good engine, support mods hell a lot and don't have to be payed just for sitting in their lazy chair watching peepz creating the new features for them!

I start liking you lol
Yar last post was somewhat more like about games

Yes, they will be selling 90 day game cards. I've already arranged to buy them at my local Electronics Boutique

Is it a bad sign when the people at EB know your name when you breeze in the door every two weeks right after you recive your paychek, and they knew you would be coming?
Just curious

If I did a survey about the people bitching about the price, I'm willing to bet that 95% are under the age of 18. You guys either need to find a job instead of wasting all your energey complaining. There are countless posts by 14 year olds in the sony forums complaining about the price.

hey hey you got it right there! I actually Am EXACT 14 years old, but hell man, 80% of the people who played max payne were also, so is it gonna be different then? Is PS a game who will be played by people, the half of them under 18? Nope, most of 'm will be under 18, and i must say...sigh...does age matter? I can get my parents that far they pay it but hell, i don't wanna pay so much - it's just a game and it's just planetside; and besides man, i'm not going to play JUST planetside becus no modding stuff and such. Read my previous replies for what i will be playing - half-life2 it's gonna rule!

Well I'll agree with you in that HL2 looks great and I'll most likely get that too when it's released. It'll never be Planetside. The best you can hope for will be CS or FA with prettier graphics nothing at all that'll approach the persitance and character development in Planetside. Couple that with added features Planetside will continue to evolve where as HL or HL2 mods will be pretty much the same.

Well the funny thing about the gaming community today is that most of us are under 18 and don't have a good paying job. The other thing that is kinda funny to me is that when the game boy came out, most of the people who bought it were adults. Back to what I was sayin though. Almost all the people who buy games today can't get a job that pays higher that 50 bucks a month. Now ya, you can save up enough money to but ps but then you have to pay almost 1/4 of your monthly allowance just to pay to play. Then if you wan't to go buy another game or sumpin like that, 1/4 of you money is gone monthly. For people who have jobs and they can afford it it's not a problem. Most of their customers can't afford it. They'd probably make a lot more money selling the actual game if they had a lower monthly price. One thing i'm curious about is if they'll allow you to use debit cards instead of credit cards. I can't get a credit card for a while and anyways their just ripoff's. You go to pay for sumpin that's 100$ and you end up paying something like 800 to the credit company. Debit card's would be a heck of a lot better so you're paying them your money and you don't have to pay the messed up credit companies.

The average age of gamers is in the early to mid 20's. (source: http://www.arcadezen.com/mt/archives/000016.html )

You make a sight more then I did when I was younger at $4.25/hour and I could afford $13.00/month.

Where do you live where you can only earn $50/month? The national minimum wage is $5.15. Factoring in a modest 20% in taxes you'll have to gross around $63/month to earn only $50/month. At $5.15/hour you're looking at 12.23 hours/month to earn that. That's roughly 3 hours a week. Here's an idea if you worked and extra 45 minutes a week you'd have enough for Planetside.

Originally posted by {HS}Warwolf Now ya, you can save up enough money to but ps but then you have to pay almost 1/4 of your monthly allowance just to pay to play.
Ok now I see your problem. You don't actually have a job. Well... go get one. McDonalds is always hiring. With only 13 hours a week it'll be cake. You should be able to do it standing on your head.

The problem with the unit sales is you only sell the game once. So the money earned of per unit sales is finite. This is one of the reasons why a monthly fee is charged becuase, sales alone won't be able to sustain the life of a MMOG. Sure a lower monthly fee would most likely create a larger audience but, there's a balance between quality and quantity sales. A good example of this is the sales figures for Ford and Ferrari. Ford may sell more units but, Ferrari charges more per unit and therefore both are able to make a good business at selling cars. They just approach the market at different angles.

Well if you have a debit card with a Visa or Mastercard logo on it, it can be used as a credit card. Other solutions are http://www.visabuxx.com/ prepaid disposable credit cards.

Quite an exaggeration and only if you make the minimum monthly payment. You're well within your rights to pay off your bill every month however you're also permitted to stretch it out. The intrest incurred because of it is paying for the service that the credit card company is offering you. It's totally up to you use your credit card responsibly though. If used responsibly it's not a bad deal and alot better then carrying wads of cash in your back pocket.

The devs should include some kind of editor so that they don't have to waste money making additions to the game when the gaming community can do it themselves. Example: Take a look at Morrowind, one of the best rpg's yet. Why is it? You can manipulate every aspect of the game. Add your own weapons, Armor, anything. A week ago some dude made a life sized airship. Another guy added like 20 more creatures to the game. Animations, Textures, Scripts, everything. peeps all the time are talking about adding a navy or mechs or more weapons to ps. I say don't leave it up to the devs. Have fans make the additions themselves and release them to the game community if they want. Then we don't have to pay an additional 20$ or 30$ or whatever.
