This has other ramifications too. Gaming clans and guilds are highly organized. Playing PlanetSide2, it's them who would be the ones employing smart tactics to overcome another empire, just like how some of the higher profile outfits in PS1 drove a lot of the gameplay. If guilds and clans don't come to PS2, you're losing a lot of organization in battles right there. They've already signed the contracts apparently, without consulting the community AT ALL. They're not going to listen to our thoughts, if they were interested in those they would have consulted us prior to signing the deal. I don't see how they can back-track now?

Also, I suspect the devs are royally pissed about this. The game they developed doesn't need this kind of terrible negativity associated with it.

They dont have to listen to us, its free to play, to keep it real, our opinions really dont matter because F2P means: Well do what the fuck we want its not like your paying for it.

Like I said I think i might be sitting this one out boys, BF3 may have small teams, and not as much people on the server, but hey at least I can game with my buddy's on the same server.

But I dont think SOE is to worried, we old farts from PS1 can easily be ignored there hoping for fresh meat anyway. I mean with advertisment and stuff, the fresh meat wont know what it was like to be able to select a server and make friends all over. I hope it works out for them Good luck SOE.

In fact I'm certain pretty much all MMOs have a "safety" clause in their EULAs that they can apply to pretty much anyone at any time when they need/want to ban someone edit - yup

Most of you probably never heard of those guys before, and SOE is expecting you to hand your account and credit card details to that german company. Are you really careless enough to do so?

First time I heard about that company was 6 weeks ago. And now, after some time looking for informations about them, anyone can find out that those guys are not serious, and are terrible in game support.

Pro7 doesn't respect its customers, nor does it respect its games.

I've read on forums that they've had account hacking problems before, and didn't solved the issue as fast and seriously as they should have (no sources, sorry).

They're also slow at updating games (meaning they push the updates way after the original game server had it), when they don't simply cut the update out (same link as the S4 League one).

Like someone said on PSU forums, Planetside 2 isn't ProSieben baby. It's their new cash cow, and nothing else.

As long as SOE doesn't tell us this CAN'T happen (not that it won't, but that it really can't, due to the terms of their contract with Pro7), we should pass on that game.

We are not second tier players.

Pretty, but I dont care how bad of a company they would have publishing PS2, theres no way I'd skip it just cos I didnt like the publisher without trying the game at all. Naturally if it turns into a huge p2w fest (shouldnt, it seems SOE is still in charge of cash shop stuff) or the servers are outright horrible and unplayable, then I will sadly let go of PS2, but something like this could never stop me from at least trying to enjoy the game.

That's just retarded in my opinion.

That whole region lock thing has on simple reason. One that is highly disgusting and unethical.

Pro7 will have the same product as SOE. But they already know(months before release) that their version of PS2 will be inferior. How it will be inferior doesnt matter at this point. Pro7 knows is that if they give the players the choice where to play the game, they will choose the "competition"(SOE). The region lock doesnt make any sense otherwise.

this whole deal reminds me of east germany in 1961 where they build a nice wall. Pro7 is doing the excat same thing. Its a nice IP wall all around europe to make us eat their sh*t.

I will definitely try PS2 BUT....dont expect me to pay a single cent for it, pro7!

That's actually something I've been wondering. Who gets the profit from the cash shop?

Obviously Pro7 will have to profit from this deal in some way, but it would seem very weird that SOE wouldnt basically earn anything off of PS2 EU.

I mean, who would just give our their product that cost a crapton to produce and say "Hey, you keep this running in EU just so we get known for making this game, no need to pay us!"

Cos I definitely want to support SOE for making the game and truth be told I also want to support Pro7 to keep the game up. I havnt played it yet, but I still foresee PS2 being a game comparable to APB for me, game where I spend more hours in than just about any other game, game that is totally unique and not replaceable by any other current title. I wouldnt want to see the game go down in EU just cos somebody didnt like the idea of paying just cos the game was published in EU by Pro7.

We need yes or no clarification on the beta access for European players as well.

Let us just be clear on this, SOE have been admanant and promised throughout that Planetside players/subscribers would be first priority on beta. There's potential legal action there for false advertising/promises if this is not honoured for the EU players.
