I thought the beta was going to come out right after E3, the game looked ready. I got all worked up over nothing...

I'm sure they had their reasons, but now the beta is going to come out (We think) around the same time as the TF2 update. Again I'm sure there were technical reasons, but from a PR standpoint the timing seems sloppy.

There'll be an announcement this week according to Smed on Twitter so lets not start getting pessimistic until we know for certain. At E3 they announced beta would be "in a few weeks", not in a month or year but "weeks". That was 3 weeks ago now and I think the prevailing opinions will be the beta should be out on week commencing 2nd July. I don't think we should be disheartened unless that week comes and goes with no news. The download page is up already at http://www.planetside2.com/download but the link isn't currently working.

I think we'll see beta between mid July and mid August.

Every time an MMO gives a date for something, double it. You'll be less disappointed.
