I'm actually not too hot on the shield thing, looks a bit off having people flash white everytime they get shot. I dont think it looks good.

Bring back armour and just have it repair itself over time. blame it on the nanites.

Its not the same thing, its a personal shield, amour is gone....i dont get why there are people running around with plate armour then...but ANYWAY!.

it would make more sense in that case just to have the armour repair itself, but the visual of the shields in halo was a nice touch, once the shields were down then it was the time to go for the headshot.

My god those snippets of gameplay were gorgeous.

What really struck me is the size and scale of that single base. As planes fly over you can see how much land if covers up close and all the grunt work that has to be done inside. All the lovely buildings and alleyways are going to be some smoking FPS action. The two(or 3) shots we got from a grunt inside shows how large the walls are and what kind of corridors we'll be fighting in.
That and how we'll have to fire up and the defenders.

Beta can't come fast enough.

p.s. loved the way Higbey came off in the video. so adorable. TRay obviously coming throught as VS with his little part.

Most players here are mature and understanding to the fact that there are other games out there to be played and still want Planetside 2, and the fact is, other game devs AND game CEO's come to post here because of the maturity and feedback of this community because it's non-biased and constructive.

Though we may quarell about our own, we are indeed a family of immense maturity when it comes to gaming.

Anyway, to the topic at hand: Someone needs to get on a plane and get to my house quickly. I cant stop watching that video. 15th time just done, next one about to come up.

Cant help but notice, but during the air flight scene (haven't checked the rest of the scenes closely) in the upper right hand corner is the word "Objectives" - It appears there are two listed. There are also two green markers on the HUD that may potentially be linked to said objectives.

I think this is a BRILLIANT system. Not too intrusive, but, like the waypoints in PS1, are great at showing you where to go. If this is an example of how missions are played out and accepted, then I just had another nerdgasm.

i think we're all experiencing this problem. i have josh hackney's lip movements engrained in my memory (watching the video with playing in the background). damn these new official trailers really need more ferrone-violin. that would be the icing on the cake

I noticed that too

And yeah, the two markers on the ground share the letters assigned to the two objectives (Deffend the Shield generator/Control Console? hard to make out)

That was a passing thought that The9 got first dibs, and there was little warning of a new video from the top. Speaking of, the PSU facebook post was before the official PS2 post...

Not that I'm argueing....I settled with what I got.
