Ugh. I'm hoping Spitfire means something different than "dozens of automated turrets" in PS2.

Would be nice to know the sniper tree on the Infiltrator though

I agree that it will most likely end up changing. I wouldn't mind seeing something closer to 300 hours. Either way, that's a long time of doing nothing but the command tree.

Edit: I'd be willing to bet the Spitfire turret is now a manned AA turret. The certs listed both the Mana Turret (Anti-infantry), an "AV Turret" and the Spitfire. Just a guess.

Most of this looks pretty cool, but surely I'm not the only one who's annoyed that infil won't get boomers/C4? It seems like we got pidgeon-holed into a semi-sniper role and had the most fun toy(s) taken away. Claymores are alright, but I want my boomers!

Higby actually said in the PC Gamer article that Infiltrators get C4. This alpha build that was played is not even REMOTELY complete in terms of the amount of weapons and gear that will be available to each class. Remember, we haven't even SEEN shotguns or SMGs yet. There is a ton of stuff yet to be implemented :-)

Thanks Neurotoxin.
Lots of nice info in those pics.

Vehicles
Quick seat-swap.
Quick Exit.
Hopefuly this means a sensible bail-out and seat-swap translation time.

Classes
SPITFIRE!!!
Engineer ammo stations seem likley.
Only 1 shield generator, porta-cover mentioned, i'm a bit diappointed (was hoping for crouching/sandbag style cover, bubble shield, protective wall).
Repair tool deconstructor? Interesting.
Charger grenades? Engineer, the class with the most damage focussed grenade options!

LANCER!!!
Looks like HA will get plasma grenades.
HA Personal Shield looks like it will get sidegrades versus certain wepon types/situations.

Overheal for medics (Aegis Barrier under nano-healing)?
Seem similar to the global agenda medic, support and de-buff utility.

LA grenades are support/de-buff style which I approve of.
3 jump-jet types, nice confirmation.

Inf, Explosive Ordinance Disposal HUD? Potential.
IFF Device? deployable radar? Or green minimap dots/shapes turn into red?
EMP Spiker? Curious.
Scrambler (anti-radar?), interesting.

MAX class clearly a work-in progress. Already fab looking in-game tho.

Agreed on hoping the Spitfire is an AA Mana Turret.

In other news, I think it's hilarious that people are already running around screaming about CR being too easy to get when we don't even know what the Command certifications allow you to DO.

Guilty as charged but in all seriousness, I think we can agree that by the end of PS1 there were just way too many CR5's (and 4's) that would just fly a mossie, OS a tower or base entrance or back door, and fly out. Over and over again. I know this belongs in a different thread, but in general (and in my opinion, of course) there should be a different mechanic for how the command structure will work than in PS1.

Yeah, I'd imagine CR5 should take a few months to attain, even from CR4. Games like EVE show that its okay to make badass stuff take years to be able to use.

During the demo, Squad Leading tree was on every class, but I couldn't tell if the unlocks are shared across every class or if CR5 has to be unlocked for every class separately.

Also, in terms of the labels on the weapons used by each class...
Heavy Assault used "LMG"
Engineers and Light Assault used "Carbine"
Medics used "Assault Rifle"
Infiltrators used "Sniper Rifle"

While this was just a demo, I think that is shows one promising possibility - little primary weapon restriction from one class to another. I could imagine that there is a significant worry that the class system will do like many other games, and limit the arsenal of the character based on their class. Considering snipers used to be 3x9 and completely unable to be carried by infiltrators, and now it is one of the weapons they were featured with, I have to imagine that EVERY class will be able to use Snipers and Shotguns and Rifles / Machineguns of all varieties, aside from class tools like the heavy weapon on HA.

I really wish all the people arguing in the thread about the LA ammo pack would discuss the above instead.

If you really think we're missing vital information, how about you supply it? And respond to the PM I sent you months ago, 'sup dude? Not cool.

Thanks, I had forgotten about that!

During the TB/Higby dual-commentary, they at one point showed some cloaking device certs for the Infiltrator that you don't have listed here.

At 1:23 here:
Cool to see some of the Engi certs finally (Sticky grenades <3). Now I want to know what a Charger Grenade does, though.
