ATTENTION TOWARDS ANYONE POSTING FURTHER. YOU EVIDENTLY DIDN'T READ ANYTHING BUT THE OP SO HOPEFULLY THESE CAPS WILL CATCH YOUR ATTENTION.
It's just a joke. He's sarcastically suggesting that we should make it more like modern shooters. Make it brown and gross looking, put a lens flare on it, and apply major bloom. It's a joke. He doesn't really want them to do it, no one does. Keep that in mind, and don't post some stupid drivel saying "Luls yur rtarded itz sposed 2 b colurfull" |

Way to a pick on a game that is still in Alpha! Wanna complain about how it isn't realistic that rocks and trees can't be seen beyond 400m but the rest of the world terrain can?
Funny discussion though. I feel like empire colors would be the things that need to be muted to make the game more "realistic" because modern soldiers don't run around in bright red and purple armor. We haven't even seen all the volumetric lighting and environment effects yet, as I don't believe they were finished when we saw PS2 at E3. The day/night transitions were really rough too, it looked like something out of a bad sci-fi or fantasy film. Thick volumetric fog pretty much covers the screen while the light rapidly brightens, or rapidly darkens. That could have just been someone messing with the day/night settings though. Too hard to tell, it was an alpha demo at an industry expo.

Im okay with the Original Colors, Your Sshots are ,too bright.
I dont know why the Heck the People in the Last Years have a "so called need" for REALISM in Games.Whats the Deal with that, the last Years were the "worst" Years in Gaming for me, i like Games more unrealistic, if there is "more Fun" coming with that ! So, Remember FarCry 1 ? You could drive a Jeep and use the MG on it, it was FUN. Or UT Shooting a Ball out of the ASMD ? Hit it with Primary Fire, Dodging on Walls, really COOL STUFF.But okay Thats all about Mechanics.(&Skill) So back to the Graphics,(And the RED Screens on one really needs :P) The Planetside Colors are nice how they are, The First thing i will do in Game is "Configure the Game in the Settings that i can "see" something, wich means turning off Unnecessary BLUR and Motion Effects".Dont get me wrong i like Explosions, High Details and Nice Graphics. Just look at Battlefield 3, Graphics are a Joke . Imagine, You are hiding Behind a Stone, someone is shooting it with a Sniper Rifle. The Next thing you see is you Screen will be Blurry.WTF ! I really dislike that Stuff in Modern Games its not Funny and not very Satisfying not to See 300 Meters,...(How was the name again of this so called "Feature"?Was it DOF ?) Back to the Realism Factor, im Living in The Mountains here, From The Mountain i have a very nice clear sight most even the Time.(If its not Raining) even with different atmospheric Conditions, i can also Look very Far and its not BLURD at all. Pointing out the Frustration about "Realism" against Fun in Games, somehow The Colors are Fine. Not Pale, its Useful. In Fact i think PS2 looks really Good, happy that a MMO can also look GOOD. |
