Blades wouldn't really work on a MAX, the bigger and heavier something gets the slower it gets due to momentum/inertia. A huge exo-suit like the MAX would be immensely strong in real life but it would be nowhere near fast enough to use a blade; a far more fitting melee attack would be a slow swing that grabs an enemy and throws them back. It would fit in with the MAXes weakness (Slow turning circle, slow speed) and would be a tool to break through door camps.

the only suitable melee weapon for max suits are giant chainsaws.
if you want to do something new, make it interesting, make players say "wow!", or dont bother at all. diverse weaponry is different from boring convoluted weaponry. Last edited by moosepoop; 2011-09-24 at 10:53 AM. |

I think I'd like either a sweep that knocked back troops in front and did a little bit of damage (pretty sure they said that was a possibility in the new engine) or a single target attack that did heavy damage. If it's the knockback then I wouldn't disarm anyone but being stunned for a moment would be fine.
