Yea it is. People are voting for people they like not realizing those same people have flamed quite a bit in the past. Hopefully Hamma sees that and doesn't get them on the ballot.

Yes, it is a popularity contest, but I still think Electro would be a good moderator, not because he is one of my outfit leaders, or because I'v known him for a while. I nominated him because I have seen what he does with what he is given, like +o in IRC, and even mod positions. He is the best IMO.

I'm glad i'm not the only one who thinks this is a popularity contest. Nominating someone because they "Gave me money in EVE" is absoloutely ridiculous. Also, you guys dont seem to care that alot of the people you are nominating, while they are great posters, they are not moderator material. And while some are, they go to school full time (Eine). If this was during the summer, i'd understand.

Look guys, Hamma's giving us an opportunity i've never seen happen. His giving us control of the boards, to find someone who is a fair, unbiased individual who can devote the necessary time to the boards (which is alot more then you guys may realize). And you guys are taking that opportunity and throwing out ludacris nominations. If you nominate someone, respect Hamma's wishes and tell us why. "He's a funny poster" is not a good reason.

BTW, I'm not trying to start a flame war. So please dont take any of what i've just said, out of context.

Thanks for the thinly veiled jab there Squeeky, but I gamed alongside a good number of the community in EVE and I think that they got to know me pretty well through the experience.

As for the rest of Squeeky said, I have to agree (

). We need to get serious and nominate people who actually have the time and the maturity to handle the position, and explain to Hamma why we think the person should be nominated. Now that I've made a post agreeing with Squeeky, I need to go shoot myself, thanks.

Edit- I'm nominating Sentrosi. He appears to post regularly here on the forums, he is mature and a good judge of a situation. His posts are pretty much always informative or helpful in some way, so I think he has what it takes to be a good moderator. Only a very few times have I seen him become openly hostile towards someone else, and it was usually because they deserved it.
