I remember reading some disappointing news about that, a quick google tells horror stories about region lock and third party account system:

Im Living in Germany but my Everquest Account is US, i dont know i never was aked to Change that ?

As far as iv seen the region lock has been lifted but not sure about soe, as far as I know another company will be handling euro servers/accounts. Which I don't like. If the region lock is off I might stick with soe but still play euro servers. This way soe keeps my station cash ect

i don't get the map..i usually ping the same in each of the European (EU and Non EU) countries.
I'm in south Europe, but i will choose where to play depending solely on the ping,as will do my outfit.

The pool is not intended to know where are you going to play but most of all from where are you going to play

Not you guys too... By Scandinavia I meant Nordic countries or Northern Europe, ok? And Scandinavia is often used as that broader term for all the nordic countries.

And yeah, yeah I know that term has also a cultural meaning and I know Finnish belong to Ugro-Finnish group of nations but we aren't here to discuss anyone's culture, history, origin or relation with neighbors, just to state what part of Europe you roughly come from.

I used only that small portion as WE since I believed plenty of gamers will come from these parts. Also I presumed British Isles (Britain and Ireland) would make most the population here and I needed Spain and Portugal to put someone in the same group as Italy.

Greek would surely want to be counted as South or Mediterranean Europe not SEE, Slovenes, Romanians and Croats would also want to be counted as Central Europe and not being a part of "godforsaken" SSE aka Balkans. Turks and Russian aren't even in Europe for the most part so they should be in a separate group with Russia called Eurasian countries.. Guys from southern baltic countries (Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia) will complain surely for being put in same group as Russians. Did I forget someone or is anybody else unhappy with the map? We get it - it's Europe, everybody's unhappy with their position on the map and their neighborhood especially... Now let's stop complicating things and vote as the map tells you.

p.s. I knew I should have made a poll with all 50 countries listed, that would be the only way to keep everyone happy. I guess I was wrong to think we gamers would be different from the usual lot and those things wouldn't matter in a simple poll.

As Meriv says it asks where do you come from... I believe most of the european servers will be located somewhere in Germany due to it's central position (that's why SOE chose Pro7 probably).

Yeah...here's another one from the "northern regions" of the EU.

Considering the fact that this game is all about PvP and it basically being a FPS-shooter at heart, latency is going to be too important for me to not roll on an EU-server.

Btw, I personally can see this game becoming very popular in Europe as well, once more players become aware of its existence and word-of-mouth kicks in.

Unfortunately, the original Planetside is a somewhat unknown game, so it will probably take a little while before people truly get what PS2 is all about.

Problem is thats a term that is left over from a rather eh, bad time. A lot of people here are sensitive about it. I cannot remember an Irish person ever using that term.

I'm thinking the same tbh. Why should I have to hand over my details to some random company I never heard of (so that they can spam me with ads most likely) ? :/

I think I might play on US servers until pro7 or whatever has proven themselves.
