Yea there's heaps of overlap, people that play FPS's like to think they're better at them then MMO players, in some case they maybe right, but odds are they're not. but the good video game players can really be good at everything, perhaps not as good cross genre, eg might not be able to play both in the top .5%. but IMO its all just a matter of time committed, if you're not a retard, have good communication, and half decent kb/mouse skills you will do well at them all.
