I'm a "half-vet" as i started with trials at the game start. i have an old character that started as trial then i played with him as reserve. He has the 5 years merit, but older than. I didn't have the money to buy a decent comp. so i didn't buy the game. But now i'm ready to pay for my sins I badly need my old vanu rexo armor. What do you think? Real subscription vets gets item free, reserves get the right to buy it from shop? |

I think the command backpack should make a return in PS2 based on your cert level in the command tree. Same with the arms pads, It was a nice touch. It easily let you identify what command rank someone was visually. As someone with 2 TR CR5's i will feel naked without it at first, but this is a new game.
Maybe there could be a slightly different texture if you manage to get the highest cert rank for commanding in PS2 and CR5 from the original game, would be a nice nod to those people who were here from the start. Failing that, some sort of merit or something.

I am a planetside vet and I voted no. I have a couple of reasons, first this creates a sort of elitist divide among players. I'd like to believe that the community simply doesn't care if you have a backpack and non veterans will not be looked down upon but they will be as we've seen in countless other games.
Second GW2 is doing something similar and as such as a person who did not like and barely played the first game I feel left out by all the cool rewards veterans of GW1 are getting. The last thing you want to do as a sequel is make players feel excluded for not playing titles in the series. It's not good business especially if your target audience is going to be way larger than the previous game. |

A veteran ribbon would be nice or access to the classic uniforms. It is a new game though so I don't think it should be anything too fancy because technically we will all be new players.
Granted I wasn't in the trenches nearly as much as some people here. I am a 2003 vet by account age mostly |

Just gimme a damn special dogtag with my number of PS1 years of service on it for the people who knife me and when I kill somebody they see a cool PS1 vet icon on the death screen. I have no need for something like a backpack.

The devs have previously asked us for input on what sort of things the vets would like to have for being PS1 vets in PS2. That doesn't mean that we will get any of it, but there is nothing wrong with mentioning things that we think would be cool.
Demanding it, or thinking that we're entitled to anything other than getting to play PS2 is ridiculous and selfish, but there is nothing wrong with wanting something, or asking for it nicely knowing you may or may not get it. |
