Wait what, you wanted a tactical game so you played bad console portmany 2 .
That's about as tactical as COD

I agree on what you said OP,they should really leave that stuff out of the game.
I doubt ps2 will be as broken as bc2,simply because bc2 was a really cheap and horrible console port(even bf3 feels 1000x times more fluid and polished than bc2)and ps2 is PC only(many people dont understand why the words PC only make me so happy, but i guess they will ).

In "tactical" games with it: A character can never rotate beyond a certain rate creating a more cerebral, tactical-skill base game, but not very "fast paced".

Without some sort of Mouse Acceleration couldn't MAX units turn around as fast as Light Assault? Couldn't lighter secondary tank guns rotate as fast as the main cannon?

The point of Mouse Acceleration is not to nerf your ability to pwn everybody else. The point of it is to create a different feel to the game.
Well my MAX and turrets currently turn int about 10x or 20 x the the time that a grunt turn. They are litterally impossible to play. To turn a max 180 degees requires picking up my mouse about 4 or 5 times.

Two different things:
1) Implementing a max turnrate to prevent turrets spinning like heliopter blades etc. I dont think anybody has a problem with that.
2) Changing the relation between mouse movement and cursor movement depending on how fast you move the mouse. Fine as an option, annoying as H. when mandatory.

I got suspended once for using that RawInput fix that Visi supplied since I was "using a third party program." Also, I take it elfailo is elcyco?

I really don't expect this to be a problem since the game is being designed as a PC game rather than being ported to the PC. Of course if it does some how work its way in, imported with the joystick support like in the first Planetside, then it absolutely should be removed.

Limiting rotation speed as a way to balance certain things like turrets and MAX units is one thing, but negative acceleration on a mouse is just bad and pointless and sloppy. Optional mouse acceleration, yes. Shitty bugged code, no thanks.

Guess we need more topics like this!!

Competitive play makes more money for SOE (see top 15 fps shooters all time). And SOE had a legal obligation to their share holders. They can't in good faith develop a game one way while knowing another way would be more profitable.

Sad many people didn't understand this earlier.

I want to see more competitive play topics as SOE announced that is the direction and first priority.
