It's not just in the desert. It's everywhere. Everytime a tank, or a Lib fires its main gun, there is a huge plume of smoke that basically obscures the target. I'd like to see the particle effects turned down just a bit so I can still see my target after I hit it once. Otherwise, every tank fight will be "Fire! Where did he go?......Oh there he is. Fire! Where did he go?...."
Save the big smokey explosion for when I actually destroy my target. |

Desert. Deserts are dusty... VERY dusty. In fact it's 1 of the tell tale signs of a moving convoy... the smoke trail rising from their tail. Dust is a BIATCH.... it gets in your eyes, it obscures objects at distance, it's bloody EVERYWHERE. Wind kicks up and you can't see. If you don't like it... there is a forest and a tundra continent... they should have much MUCH lower dust levels. |

That's the problem. The smoke from tank shells and Lib rounds are EVERYWHERE, not just in the desert parts. It's just a bit much and there is room to turn it down slightly while still keeping it looking cool.

Again, I for one, like the dust. After all, its a bloody desert. It adds quite a bit of immersion, not to mention, big guns DO kick up a lot.
Its like shooting a tank, and asking " Why the hell is there so much dust and smoke?! " Its a tank. (Or a gunship) Big weapons = a lot of smoke. |

Yeah having a lot of dust kicked up in a dusty plains/desert continent is not only realistic, it adds to gameplay, since it adds one more thing you can use to your advantage or you have to work around, it changes the tactics of a fight having to deal with things like obscuring dust, it can give someone being hammered in a tank a chance to move around obscured, it might make people more carefully consider their shots with tanks or large explosives. It adds a layer of depth and that kind of thing is always good.
