Haven't noticed hackers lately, although I haven't really been looking either. Hackusations get tossed around so much that I probably dismiss suspicious deaths naturally. I'm sure a hacker has gotten me at some point and I took it as luck or nature of the game.
That being said, some people are very over zealous with their hackusations. Had one guy sending me tells for 20 minutes or so about how bad I was and where I get my aim bots from haha. Best part, I was streaming. The alt I was playing could possibly put me on rumble pits radar if he looked at my stat page or DA. Luckily I have video of me playing if anything were to happen, but it would be a miserable experience trying to get my account with a BR 100 recovered, not to mention fall out from the community once banned. I'm not sure if SOE bans based off stats, but I would be careful about jumping to conclusions too quick unless player pages show impossible stats. Stats are easy to whore in this game. I absolutely despise hackers as they ruin the game for everyone around them. I would see every one of them perma banned with their first transgression. However we have to be mindful that there are a ton of people shooting countless bullets in this open world game. Suspicious deaths will happen. Hardest part is figuring out if some one is doing it consistently and in situations where they should be able too. I think it would be really helpful to have the range a bullet/projectile traveled included on killboards, although the devs may have this. One reason my alts stats are higher is that I've been plodding around as a heavy in close quarter environments. Whenever I engage at range I'm sure my stats, particularly head shots, decrease a fair bit. It would be interesting to know if the devs get this data. It would be helpful to the community as well if they could pull up a kill board and see if those 10 head shot kills in row were at 100m or 15m. The more tools we have at our disposal, the better we can help. |

I don't get mad at the blatant hackers. The high BR ones that try to hide it very well frustrate me the most because I know they'll likely never get caught. Keep in mind I'm not a bad accusing players better than me of cheating; the list I have of people I think are cheating is very very short.
Examples include getting headshotted off my cloaked flash(driving at full speed) from 200m away(and I cloak before I crest the hill and come into LOS), getting headshotted the instant the accused turns the corner while I'm playing Light Assault(and I'm hiding up high, not firing, not moving, and not spotting, but somehow certain people instantly look up and put bullets into my head). Other than that I'll never share who I suspect of cheating because the stigma of being someone that suspects others of cheating is often worse than being a suspected cheater (aka you're mad cuz bad). |

The reaction time on the game session destroying severe hackers is definitely a problem. When I encounter someone that's definitely a severe hacker myself, I just skip the reporting process and send a tweet directly to @TheGreatMutato (That's Brad Wilcox, VP of Customer Services for Sony Online)
The /report reporting process seems to have a response time in the hours, whereas sending the tweet to that particular account has a reaction time of minutes. I logged in a few days back on Miller to find out people had been reporting a guy standing behind a wall for *two hours* who had reached over BR16 in one short play session. Sent some tweets and it was sorted in minutes (Though the scum came back more than once and had to be re-swatted a few times by the admins). I make a point of only tweeting at Brad for the clear & severe cases though, since I assume he's probably pretty busy and/or has a life of his own. |

I reported a person for this last night. We were on each other's screen for less than a second, right at a corner we were both running around from opposite sides. He was literally inside my body when we saw each other, yet he manage to land a head shot kill on me with a sniper rifle (heard the sound), while hip firing.
Later I looked at his stats and he's pretty good, but not super fantastic, so perhaps I happened to "lag out" at only that particular moment and thus I was on his screen far longer than he was on mine. Perhaps. Looked like cheating from my end and that's all I have to go upon, so reported. Sucks to report people, but if we don't report these issue then they'll never be resolved, hackers and bugs alike. |

Google'd it and didn't find much beyond peoples' personal anecdotes.
That's all I ever see, really. Not disputing that hacking happens; this is a PC game afterall. The anecdotes are always exaggerated though. There are thousands of enemy players online at any time. Even if a hacker could kill you from the otherside of the map, why would he kill you and only you. Last edited by BlaxicanX; 2014-01-02 at 07:38 PM. |

They sound like some major hacks there...
My little gripe sounds like nothing in comparison, but I've just been headshot through a tower doorway shield and not even I can shoot through my own tower shields. I was just lining the guy up for sniping and before I even started to walk outside of the shield wall he shot me first. I know it's only a small thing but it's really starting to get to me now... Reporting doesn't seem to work so I might try to log it as a ticket instead. |

Yeah. It's a bit of a concern.
Shout them out in /y if you spot TR hackers on Miller, I don't want to benefit from or be associated with that shit. Not that I care about benefitting, finally hit 100 today. \o/

Saw a couple of hackers on Matherson last night. One was warping all around the Crossroads tower, mostly in the walls, trying to knife people. He didn't get me, so I wasn't able to report him. I would gladly volunteer to put a few hours a week into monitoring a server if SOE set up such a program. I miss being able to send a tell to a GM.
