I think in the new lore the NC mostly consists of the workforce, the moneygrabbing corporates and their mercenary attack dogs

Yup. That's why I'm thinking this pistol would belong to one of the corporate moguls that decided to get down and dirty, what with immortality being a factor and all.

Edit: Goddamn, there are some pretty amazing roleplaying opportunities here...

Maybe in a future content patch we can have something like the battle islands where everyone gets together and instead of shooting each other we go on adventures with our various (empire specific of course) 20-sided die.

Exactly my thoughts too. Probably the only game I've ever seen "golden weapons" look good.

Everybody loves gold all around the world. Plus, who knows, you may be right. There may be an Auraxium plated one as well which would be badass and I don't even know what Auraxium looks like but if it is valuable then I want it.
