Our culture is problematic in many ways, more so for women than men. I don't think we should ignore any of those problems.

One problem facing men is the Tough Guy archetype. Men are expected to be ready to engage in fisticuffs at the drop of a hat - "fight for your girl" - yet we'll be arrested if we do. It's a no-win scenario.

Unrealistic body image portrayed by the media is a problem for both sexes.

There are various contradictions in our social norms around reproduction and child custody.

Women have a longer list of legitimate concerns, but that doesn't mean we should ignore issues men face when we try to imagine a more egalitarian society.

Tough Guy archetypes are for frauds, guys with small penises, Oxford comma, and/or guys with severe insecurity complexes. I liken it to an animal attempting to frighten off predators. Acting like you're big and bad may work on people who are scared, but it comes down to one thing: are you going to throw a punch?
