It's weird how different the rendered model looks from the concept art, which looks more akin to a skull in my eyes, though I can barely tell since the brightness was cranked up to 11, bleaching just about everything though I guess this is where the customization comes in. They don't just build the base model and voila, it's alternates poof into a file somewhere, as convenient as that would be.
Could also be the early workings of taking the light armor helmet and building on that. I too thought the fore-arm/upper-leg variants with the full mask were rexo with a more realistic feel. Guess those are just for customization. Probably more protection for less mobility even, but nothing compared to actually going Heavy assault in power armor I imagine. I for one hope they can take a beating. They can't really heal themselves save for medpacks most likely, but I want them to be something to fear as a medic or engineer or jump troopers with an assault rifle. I see one of these guys aiming towards me, I should be thinking Spartan/Elite or even Terminator, only not nearly so impervious to small arms fire Hell, maybe they grant them regenerative shielding? What do we know? Maybe we'll find out next week! |

I like the concept power armour, gives me faith we might be playing Planetside 2, not a BF/COD MMO. thats the vibe that I have been getting from all the regular armour we have seen in past screen shots and gameplay, with how they have gone for that more realistic plate armor look.

Question for the devs: Are any armor classes other than MAX's powered in any way? (excluding jump packs, I'm talking about limb/body movement and strength augmentation.)

I wouldn't mind some more Crysis nanosuit action. We've already got cloaking and speed boost in the first game. Some super strength and high jumps could be fun. I know we already have jump packs for the latter, but the jumping could be much smaller of a vertical distance than the jump packs can offer. Combine uber jumping with a jump pack for maximum height clearance.
I imagine if they make HA be class specific, that a lack of strength enhancement will be the limiting factor. |
