What I'm talking about is where the reflections of the light are done in such a way that it looks like it's covered by plastic/"saran" wrap. It came about with the introduction of either bloom or HDR, I can't remember which, but there were games that utilized it in such a way that shiny things ended up looking like they'd been vacuum-packed with plastic wrap (I seem to remember cars were particularly susceptible to this). Like I say, it doesn't look like it'll be a problem, the reflections on the helmet just reminded me of it slightly. Edit: Does anyone else know what I'm talking about, or do I just sound crazy? Vancha, I know what you are talking about. And yeah, the models in this picture seem to be fine in that respect. There is some light reflection, but it seems to be realistic and not the 'i am covered in reflecting stuff' look that some other games have.
I think the biggest problem in the area of how the models look is that they don't look right against the terrain. Everything looks like it is just photoshop cut&pasted against the terrain. Its like the models and terrain clash. Anyone else get that thought when they look at the recent images?

In respect of the question, "What PlanetSide 2 vehicle will be your choice for assault?", it would be helpful if there was a draft list of all vehicles that are returning... from what we've seen so far, however, the Galaxy seems the best bet considering it will have an even spread of armour, speed and weapons, as well as the "mobile field base" mechanic that has not yet been properly revealed.
Second to that would be the Sunderer, should a single AMS-type spawn be integrated as a customisation option. Anything else smaller (Quad) or larger (Vanguard/Prowler/Magrider) than that would still fulfil scout and anti-armour roles, respectively. Last edited by Hyncharas; 2012-02-04 at 02:26 AM. |

Well truth be told, I was sorta of surprised how it looked worse than the other pictures we've seen. Usually even the camera phone pictures look better, this looked a bit off.
That said, it still excites ALOT. I'm not concerned, cos the ratio of visually impressing pictures to visually unimpressive pictures is something like 100:1 atm ![]() but even at its worst it still looks nowhere near bad ![]()
