Question 1:
How many of the engineer's items will be mutually exclusive to each other, i.e. which combination of items will you be able to use? Question 2: Will you, and your empire, recieve a token amount of resources at the initial game launch to enable immediate use of vehicles?

oh yes, i forgot!
we saw a screenshot of a spitfire cert! does this mean we get our beloved spitfire from ps1 back? if not, please ask higby what the new spitfire will be like!

Question: With three factions that utilize completely different weapon systems, it must be difficult to make balance and "fairness" considerations with respect to other factions. What sort of metrics and systems are being used to determine faction balance?
Question: Has there ever been a community tweet, thread, or post that has influenced the development of PlanetSide 2 in any significant way? Question: With what we know about the current certification system, this will allow players to obtain every certification possible after a period of time. Do you worry having too many options available to veteran players will ultimately end up harming game balance between new players and veterans later on in the game's life span? Have any considerations been made to potentially limit total certifications? Question: Battlefield 3 has made it notoriously difficult to deal with jets. How will aircraft flares be handled in PlanetSide 2; will they be an ability-based cooldown, or a finite resource? Question: As a creative director, you probably have a ton of ideas you have tried within PlanetSide 2. Has there been a particular idea that has completely flopped in tests, or something unexpected that went over really well? |

Question 1: Will the engineers turrets cost resource to set-up?
Question 2: Can you place more then one thing of C4 at once? And if so, when you detonate it, does it all detonate at the same time, or one at a time? Question 3: I haven't seen it any where, but will the ANT be returning from PS1? Question 4: Will engineers have multiple turrets they can deploy, such as AV and AA? Q. Matt, You wished you had been more open in regard to First Platoon (elite of the elite per se).
With beta soon upon us there must have been many discussions within First Platoon about game play and general design. It has after all been at least a month since it was formed and we're lead to believe thats why they were invited in the first place. Obviously anything related to weapons is not included since you recently hired someone with specific experience to handle that. With the interaction of these members and Devs what specific input, if anything, has been implemented in to the game so far from the First Platoon participants, and was there anything you couldn't get from other established PS communities? In that time I'd expect you'll have a plethora of changes, improvements, ideas you can share with us. They are representing the rest of the community after all and some feedback would be appreciated. Something other than a generic reply regarding "great ideas and meaningful discussion" if possible please, thanks. Hamma please seriously consider choosing people that do not already have the privilege of a private channel open to Matt and the rest of the devs to regularly discuss the game and ask questions via FP. Q1: Are there any plans to have any special identification, symbol, camo, etc. for PS1 vets?
Q2: Will the UI be customizable? Q3: Did you guys decide yet if PS2 will support TrackIR? Q4: Will gamepads/controllers be supported in PS2? Q5: Can you give any new info about what other type of cool things we may be able to do in PS2 with iPad apps? Q6: Any plans for colored smoke nades for day and/or flares for night time play? Q7: If I attend SOE Live in October, will I/we be able to get a unique in-game item or camo? Thanks!

My question is this: I was told by a member of my current outfit that Infiltrators are not considered very important within the ranks of the outfit in PS1. This was because people use hacks to view you even when still and the wide use of darklight implants.
As a returning veteran, that was disheartening. I pride myself on infiltrating/hacking. What sorts of things are/were being considered to combat this, or at least, are you trying to cover all the sorts of ways people can manipulate their video cards to view the infiltrator? |
