No, you don't understand. The person that gets shot is covered in smoke, like the famous ninja getaway move. It's the target that gets covered in smoke, not myself. Just watch the gameplay vids and you'll see what I mean. It looks cool, but just scale it down from a 9 to about a 6.

i cant wait. throwing some rounds down from a lib, all that dust and smoke. even miss's will be helpful for friendly troops to move up or repossition. i want smoke rounds even. or looking from the walls and only seeing a huge dust cloud ont he plain. whats that coming? 50 tanks or an enviromental thingy. i wanna see how dust particals work off of infiltrators cloaks , will it help hide me or the exact opposite? i can see it going either way.
which leads me to. does thermal pick up infiltrators or does the suit bend infrared light as well? where does darklight fit in? |

Check Hamma's yesterday video at 3:43. He shoots a Lightning inside the base, on basefloor, and still a lot of dust. Or Higby's new video at 24:00 droppod landing on a aircraft landing pad. Great dust circle. It's a little over than it should.
About thermal imaging, an exploding shell just create a big, thousands celsius degree hot, expanding air ball. I don't think you can easily see thru that. i think it will blind you just like a flashbang do with normal eye. |

soooo you grabbed 3 screen-shots from the millions of frames we have of indar ( a desert continent ) and turned them into a legitimate point about excessive dust
well played and before you say anything else, go blow up a pipe bomb inside your garage and explain the amount of dust you observe Last edited by drennam; 2012-07-19 at 02:24 AM. |

Didn't the devs said once that dirt and smoke will be regarded as a tactical option in the long run?
And as for the dirt, I've absolutely no problem with that but I'd say they should tone it down a wee bit for not-experienced enough players. |

They're in a desert. It's sand and loose dirt.
Showing a chaotic war is their aim as well. You'd be surprised how much dirt, dust, and whatever else just flies around from small things. Then get big things. Then you get a few hundred of all those. |

More dust! More dust! More dust!
Seriously with all the explosives and shock waves you'd expect there to be far more, but I guess not everyone's computer can handle five million particles at the same time. |
