PSU forums very slow to load today, and a few "high traffic" failures. Something to do with the ad? Wouldn't have thought so but it is a coincidence.

I think the downtime's this morning had more to do with patch/server downtime than adverts. By the way, if we decide to stick with the ads (if) I'd be hiding them for contributors.

But then how will we learn about the fine products and important services they offer? These Westminster dinette sets are of "fine craftsmanship" and "uncompromising quality", for instance.

The irony is these ads are supposed to be targeted at our demographc.. I'm not seeing that so far for the most part.

I've tested out the contributor flag for adverts - after 24hrs (coming up here in a few hours) I will hide adverts for contributors.
