Actauly this sort of ties into my expectations for the game. I kinda think they are trying to scale down the number of players to say 200 max (still far more than everyone else) and have a more actiony game. Kinda like battlefield feel.
That also means smaller areas, closer to BF2 map sizes. Thats really what I am expecting (fearing?). So waiting for real info on pace of the game... Last edited by Aractain; 2011-02-14 at 10:36 AM. |

Your probably right. Its more popularity than capability that Im thinking about. Heres the idea: You want a visually impressive game. To do that you need to have small sized areas filled with detail rather than larger more sparse areas.

Detail (more importantly, static mesh detail) is over-rated. Just gimme nice tree's n grass that fit well with the environment, maybe a lake and a stream or two, then loads of land and thats the ticket.

I'd actually like it if you couldn't toggle flora on or off, that way if I'm hiding in brush then I'm hidden on everyones screen. I know it makes finding mines harder but we aren't sure how they'll implement those anyway, plus I like flora.
