Just beat it, and yes it was the best cliffhanger ever. It leaves so many questions unanswered, especially, who is the g-man?

Cliffhangers seem to be a new trend with games these days, they did a bit of that in Doom 3 and Halo 2.

I.. just played liek teh first two leves(i think i'm at the end of the airboat part) and OMG, headcrabs...then City 17 w/ the HUGE ass tower...and the boat flying over jumps dogding the helo/bombs...increadible graphics...the awsome music during the chase, it fit perfectly. OMG! *dies*

More screenies...


A combine dropship lands and lets out some CPs. They quickly become food for my new airboat


A grenade takes out a fortified machine gun nest. Lookit him fly!


Some CPs rappel off the bridge to the right of some barnacles (alien lifeform).


Who brings a helicopter to a gunfight?


This chopper gets a taste of it's own medicine in the form of a Combine machine gun.


A friendly Vortigaunt (aka Alien Slave) attaches a machine gun to my airboat...


Oh yeah! Now we're cookin!

Help now.

I'm at the part where I'm attempting to locate the airboat, but after I meet up with the two headcrab guys, I can't find my way from there. Oh and that electrified box is too dangerous to go through.

Wasn't there supposed to be a chunk of gameplay on an arctic icebreaker? I remember such mentioned in previews and other "sources".

Now you mention it, yes I remember that. Bastards! Why did they cut so much, they even had it implemented.

Dont forget them cutting the M-29 OICW look-alike weapon, the hydra (that one blue-transparent-tentacle monster), the one town that had intelligent combine soldiers that would try to break through a door if you blocked it ect, the bullsquid(monster from hl), and other things.

OICW I missed, but the other weapons probably made up for it.
I made note of the hydra earlier.
They didn't ditch Traptown (Ravenholm), they just changed it. Lots.
I hated the original bullsquid.

You can see art for the OICW look alike by using the cheat "give weapon_cubemap".

When you go to select the weapon, it has a concept image as the weapon thingy, and HL2 #cubemap as the heading. The weapon is two red cubes in the top of your HUD. It doesn't fire anything.

I'm disappointed that so much was changed. I honestly don't know why people make stuff to cut it out again. They should keep the stuff they cut, and let you play it seperatly.

They should (first) change all of the cut stuff, change the reasons why it was cut to make the gameplay more seamless (no doubt they would have done this anyway if they didnt have publishers breathing down their necks to finally get it out), then have it be a downloadable "graft" into the original game, a directors cut, if you will, to give us the chance to play the game as it was intended.
