I watched the 2 EQ 2 movies originally posted by SDM. The graphics look nice, but everything else looks bland and unoriginal. I'd also probably get very annoyed by having to listen to "Hey there! I have the finest goods to offer this side of Norrath!".

This thread was derailed and then re-railed. I'm surprised it's still talking about EQ2.
Anyway, what people have said have been valid points; however, they are not valid enough to make someone want to play EQ2 over WoW. First off: The company. Blizzard (so far, knock on wood) has never fumbled a game. Every game they have ever released has been rock solid and a huge seller. Secondly: WoW won't be full of 'bnet kiddies.' It's pay to play on a monthly fee; most kiddies can't get their mommies to pay that. Trust me. EQ2, however, will be full of the EQ addicts (which include the kids who have stolen their parents money just to play). The game will be fun for maybe 2 months, and then it will die because of all the EQ addicts who powerlevel the game just to be first to the level cap. Thirdly: This relates to point number one. Even if Vivendi told Blizzard to rush WoW, they won't. Blizzard is smart enough to know not to rush a game. They just won't do it. If it releases in November or December, it'll be because the game is finished by Blizzard's standards. (Hint hint: WoW open beta is soon, meaning Blizzard is nearing the final stages.) If I think of more points, I'll be sure to chime in.

Clicky Ill pick just ONE of them: 11) Does Blizzard realize that the Horde is still lacking in the fun & fluff department (like the Alliance's vendors that sell holdable flowers, or their master chef vendor that sells many recipes, etc.)? We do realize that such features are few and far between for the Horde at the moment. While we probably will not get such items in by release, the Horde should receive more attention on this front when we add such things in post-launch. However, in addition to high level content and raids, we are focusing on Horde content in Kalimdor. Horde not getting full attention till AFTER release. And they plan to add things in post launch. Hmmm doesnt sound like thier normal polishing. While this post comes off as really negative, I have full faith in blizzard's ability to put out and maintain a quality game. But they ARE being rushed, witch is |

^about the last concern with patching after release...
Patching and finishing things up after release is NORMAL for MMO games. Maybe it shouldn't be, but name a game that had EVERYTHING, you wanted at release. It's impossible, b/c MMO games are an unfolding story and patches are a monthly thing with new releases and chapters. I don't look at this as a negative thing for blizzard. I have full faith in blizzard's leap into the MMO world.
