Glad to see we won't let them stop piracy, but we'll let them pass the NDAA which basically says they can imprison a US Civilian indefinitely without reason or cause and without giving them an attorney or even a trial.

NDAA is screwed up and it's hilarious that it's gotten as far as it has (I use it as a big selling argument point when trying to get people to wake up about current politics and then I try to get them to write to they congress/senators to get Ron Paul into office [usually works]).

This thread is about SOPA tho and I honestly haven't been trying to keep up on it like I should. Anything important crop up on the issue?

It hasn't been overturned. It's been shelved. And only SOPA has been shelved - PIPA is still alive and well in the other half of Congress.

After talking to my Grandpa about it he pretty much told me not to get into too much of a huff. As long as the Supreme Court isn't full of shit then anything that gets to them gets the ban hammer, but as long as it's in Congress they can still make changes to it and pass it in some form or another.

He made a good point.

So watching how the Supreme Court handles NDAA should be a fair indication on how they'll likely handle any other insane stuff like SOPA or Protect IP.
