The TR don't have this issue. My wife firmly supports me and my efforts on the front. My kids have been taught with the best schooling my Empire has to offer. They would be as likely to compose a sonnet as they would to break down their Cycler blindfolded in 12 seconds or less. They stand ready to fight at a moments notice. Oh man, my girlfriend just rolls her eyes when I show her the PS2 videos and tell her about the game.

I am also desperate for a new laptop to play PS2 on. I went as far as laying the ground work over time introducing her slowly to the idea of giving her my old laptop now, then her "contributing" to a new (gaming) laptop that we could....share later on.

It is a rather weighted question.

I mean, look at what happened to Anakin Skywalker when he swapped sides to be with his girlfriend :P

But in all truth, when you first log in to Planetside 2, there's no better time to start experiencing the other factions. The game will be brand new, there's new players, new faces, people are excited to play, people are trying out all the factions with you, and you can play with your girlfriend while you both get a feel for things... that sounded weird, you and your girlfriend can get more familiar with the different factions. It may end up being inevitable, she may love the Vanu and their purple sleek and flashy stuff, while you hold true to the faction you spent years with, but at least you tried to be more open minded.

I'm serious about being open minded when it comes to this. Stop thinking about how good it felt to laugh at the Vanu when there were none left to argue with, stop comparing the nagatives of the other factions with the positives of the NC's perspective, and think of the positives of all factions.

In the end, do what you think is fun. If that means playing the NC and sniping your girlfriend in the head thinking that will change her mind anytime soon, go for it. She won't change her mind but go for it.
