Our Outfit leader may be obsessed with Galaxy Drops, but Troops raining down from one of these is what comes to mind with the phrase "On the Bounce"... ...Just hope we'll be able to land a Galaxy on it though...
...So yeah, at least you don't have to face whatever blue monstrosity the NC will roll out. Still, it looks like those pads, the "Graviton Drive Assembly", would be this things Achilles heel; an exposed propulsion system located on the bottom and literally shaped like targets. With all those air counter-measures, I wouldn't be surprised if sniping them with a Tank wouldn't be the preferred method for taking one of these down... ...Of course that just makes me wonder how such damage would affect the craft; would it just fly worse over all or would taking out specific Repulsors cause the ship to list and eventually flip over?
...Still, I'd rather have separate vehicle for the Loadstar and this as a mobile Air Base. |

It should be slow as balls giving AP tanks and Rocket reavers time to unload on its weak points (think BFRs). If it gets close to you though your in trouble. I feel it would require a rethink of base designs. Something that is actually more defensible on the inside once you are pushed back since base camping with this would be on a new level. this would be awesome for outfit bases. We could have VR target area. We could practice maneuvers on the inside, think of the great feeling rolling your outfit cruiser over a base.
use your main guns to knock out the base defenses, send out the fighters to protect the cruiser. And then using two other squads to a massive gal drop onto control point. It would be so much fun maybe could have a little section inside was outfit stuff it would also serve as a cool meeting location. |

Maybe it would force a full platoon to spend ALL of their air/mech resources. That would do some balance since they wont be able to spawn anything while saving or for a while after spending it Last edited by Cato; 2012-11-30 at 10:56 AM. |

Be an interesting component if the main batteries were what the SL's called in for the orbital bombardment. Imagine seeing those shells streak through the sky. Although that wouldnt really work because of terrain.

Guys I think this is more like a orbital platform, I dont think individuals or outfits would be spawning these. I think its just an orbital platform which can be capped like any other base. Im sure there are benifits that can be had with this platform but I dont think were going to have that many of these floating around in the air.
With the turrets on the bottom I mean how useful could they be. If I saw this thing coming toward my base I damn sure aint going outside knowing its got those guns. If im assaulting a base and I see this thing on the horizon, id stop the assault and move to another point. This is why I think its just a platform that can be hacked, maybe one or two over a continent and I think they will be stationary. I think the advantage of these orbital bases will give you the ability to deploy troops and equipment anywere on the continent map, and access to orbital strikes. I just dont see these bohemoths floating in the sky. But could you imagine the xp that can be had from shooting them down. OMG |

Interesting like in the regular RPGMMO you have clan houses, in Planetside we can have like an outfit battle station. Cool concept, but what if you guys are logged off and its under attack .... OOoooo Noooo UUUUUgggaaaa UUUUggggaaa abandon ship, abandon ship. So when you log back on in like 8 hrs its been shot down my a mossy pilot named AngryDave who never sleeps.

These things should be destroyable. But this also has struck me as a possible spacecraft for traveling to other server/planets and raiding the natives. You would be able to drive it right into the atmosphere and kick ass immediately. This is so freaking cool.

Well lets get the initial ship out first and then we can talk about raiding other planets. Im just trying to fit this thing into game play, I mean certs, or SC to get this thing, what type of resources, is it mobile and how fast is it, how big is it, and how to defend against enemies. I mean if you shoot it and you put a bunch of engineers in the inside this thing is pretty much indistructable. Can the enemy raid it, I mean there are alot of questions. But lets let the dev put it together.

Qwan i would imagine that this would be bought with outfit resources. I dont really know about the outfit system that they are going to install though I have heard a couple of things about it in different dev interviews. Outfits will be able to rank up. Outfits will be able to specialize. There will be a minimum of at least a outfit decal available to buy in the cash store. Also outfits will be on a leaderboard and they will be able to fight in tourneys for the highest ranking outfits. Dont know too much else about future outfit stuff.
