What I normally see is testers either effectively "leaving" forums or just avoiding game discussions like the plague

According to twitter tech test will remain as is, with a very slight chance of some more EU invites.
Beta will probably start "in a bit over a week" (said friday if i recall). Basicly means there's little reason to update your survey, as it was just used for tech test. |

A stress test is usually an open thing, when the core game is basically ready to go and they need to push their server architecture to its limit to make sure it can handle what will be asked of it when the game goes live. |

To my understanding they arnt so much testing THEIR tech, but testing how the game currently runs on different sort of systems.
This is not a stress test, as they have obviously way too little people to stress even my grandmoms computer

Tech Test is to make sure their hardware (and players hardware) can support the game and they can distribute it to thousands of players.
Optimizing an FPS where they plan to have 2000 players on a continent is a huge affair so I'm not surprised the tech test is longer. |
