The San Diego zoo is quite awesome, one of the best in America.
It would take hours to explain it... here's their link on the web http://www.sandiegozoo.org Remember I haven't been there in 13 years, but when my wife and I went it was awesome to say the least...

Some San Diego info..
Ok folks, I used to live in San Diego (San Dog as we used to call it..), back in 91' some things have changed, others stay the same. Here's some info.. on some of the things to do there... http://www.hoteldel.com/ A classic historic hotel, The Del was built in 1888 and designated a National Historic Landmark in 1977. Awesome hotel, very classy!!! Think of the eagles song, Hotel California... City of Coronado - http://www.coronado.ca.us/ Here's a link to the visitor center - http://www.coronadovisitorcenter.com/ On Coronado you can rent bicycles, and pedal almost everywhere, lots of mansions to see, awesome beaches. Coronado is linked to the city of San Diego by a big bridge.. I used to have to go over here every once and a while when my ship docked at the Navy base on Coronado.. sometimes the traffic can really suck here.. I happen to find a holiday inn/seaworld package... here's a link: holiday inn - seaworld http://www.himb.com/especials.php?OV=san_diego_vacation_$80 Don't forget about the San Diego mission, it was the first of 21 historic missions definately one to stop by take photos to show the folks back home (if your not paying for this by yourself) that you actually got a bit of class and took in some of the historic sites... see we're all not about partying all day long... Ahh there's also the San Diego zoo, which is quite awesome.. Old Town is fantastic, but I haven't been there in a loooong time... Can't forget about Legoland - For the kid inside Here's a link: http://www.lego.com/legoland/califor...sp?locale=2057 Old Town - awesome place... minutes from downtown San Diego Here's a link to a major attraction in old town: Bazaar del Mundo http://bazaardelmundo.com/home.html Cheers, Magen

Oh something else I forgot, usually the Navy base (32nd street Naval station) has a "visit ship" program. I can't remember if it's at the base or downtown San Diego these days, as there is a pier at the end of downtown S.D. for the ships to pull up to.
Essentially a ship is designated each week (or atleast was) which the general public can take a guided tour. It's quite cool if you've never been on a US Navy warship before... Wonder if TopGun (Miramar Naval Air station)has an tour spots anymore... humm...
