Ditto! I'll take one, maybe two. Hell I can't even use it, but I'll take it!

I have a nvidia 460 that could probably run it fine on low to mid settings, but I need a new processor, which will require a new mobo to fit it, which will require me to buy new memory cause i'll need ddr3, and I want an SSD.... so might as well get the gpu upgraded too

I bought a 580 last year. I'm not about to go wasting money on a 670 or 680. If anything i will upgrade monitor/SSD/ new mouse.

$1500 so far. But, I may go further if my video cards are not able to run the game on full.

My system's pretty old, so I was needing upgrades anyway. I can't run Witcher 2 worth a damn and Skyrim doesn't run well either. So I'm going to have to spend about $450 for computer upgrades. But as I said I needed to for my rampant PC gaming in general.

I spent $10 on station cash when they were having a double cash sale, though. So there's that.

I am personally struggling to decide if I want to spend the money to build a new computer that is capable of running Planetside 2. For the record, I built my current computer in the summer of 2005. My specs are an AMD Athlon FX-57, a 9800 GTX+, 4 Gigs of Corsair XMS PC3200 memory, and a 300GB Raptor. If that's not an old rig, I don't know what is.

I'm willing to bet at least 40% of the Planetside player-base has spent at least $100 or more tweaking/upgrading/completely rebuilding their computers to be able to play Planetside 2.

So, how much have you spent on Planetside 2?
Maybe 40% of the ps player base has to upgrade. But for the average gamer absolutely not. And for the competitive gamer hell no. What are you smoking? I've got over 200 members and haven't heard of one single person upgrading anything. I don't really know of anyone that games with me that doesn't run at least a 1 gig video memory, dual core, 4 gigs ram. And that would run this game just fine. Maybe not ultra settings or whatever but it will run it well.

Personally I couldn't buy anything that would upgrade my rig so $0.

But i'll probably spend around $500 on in game stuff or more if they have things to by. I'd spend $1000 to insta upgrade everything but doubtful that will be an option.

And finally, your rig will run the game just fine. Not ultra settings or whatever but it will run just fine.

Well I broke down this morning and ordered a OCV 120 gb SSD and a Zalman 9900 nt heatsink/fan for my new build. Bf3 was causing my cpu to run hot, it seems fine on idle then my temps soar when playing BF3 on ultra for a few hours.

Current Build
MSI 890fxa gd70 mobo
Gskill Ripjaws series 1333 16gb
(2) Iceqx Raedon HD 6950 2gb
Cooler Master Silent Pro 700 watt psu
AMD FX 8150 3.6 (stock) need to get my new heat sink in to OC
Zalman 9900 nt heat skink
OCV 120 gb hd
Western Digital 1.5 tb @ 7200 HD
NZXT case (Orange)
4 120mm green led case fans
-----------------------------------
Razer Naga Mouse
Razer speed mouse pad
Logitech g110 keyboard

-----------------------------------
This is an early pic of when I first built it a few months back. Was still missing a few of the led fans and what not. And believe me if I was in the tech test I would have never took the time to post all this

2.9 GHz
6 Gb RAM
500 watt power supply
And an ATI Radeon HD 4890

Both the power supply and the graphics card were given to me by a coworker, before that (prepare to shudder) integrated graphics. Hooray low/mdium settings!

well its not for PS2, but once im all setup at my new house, i plan on dropping about 3,000 on building my own PC. i can get some good deals on parts if i do it myself (and no i cant get you parts, sorry.) but i plan on going in to the dual, quad core area, with atleast 2 vid cards, overclocking EVERYTHING and then going to cryo cooling for sub zero internal temperatures.

I am sure I will throw some money down just to show my support even if I don't really want the station cash.

In total i spent about $650, including tax and a new case. The only thing i kept from my old system was my Raptor 150gb HD(and now i want an SSD lol).

Core i5 3550
Radeon 7770
8 GB's RAM

Blacklight Retribution occasionally dips to 50 FPS, but if i turn Dynamic Lights off I'm back at 80 FPS constant. Game looks great either way(shallow game though).

This little budget rig has been able to hand everything i throw it at and more, I'm very proud.

You can't really factor that in as a cost though. You'll be able to run many OTHER games outside of Planetside 2, so you aren't exactly paying that much for the game specifically.

I'm constantly holding back my "I wanna upgrade nooooow.
But it's always that little niggling "well I should upgrade so I can try the beta".

Then my logical tightar*se kicks in:

1. You have no idea when/if you will be in beta
2. You should wait until the actual launch.

But then again there may be floods increasing hard drive costs so you never really quite know...

I think since sandybridge it's ok to buy whenever. I'll only go entry/mid level GPU anyway. Sub 100 sterling gfx
