Yeah I am all up for an anime forum here @ PSU

Anyways RK consists of:

* Mangas (which are great and complete the true story)
* 1 OVA consisting of 4 episodes showing RK's past (a prequel)
* The series, 95 episodes long but the ending is not as it was in the manga
* Another OVA, but this OVA was done without the consent of RK's creator which means its not official which means Kenshin may not officially end this way (lets cross our figners cause the ending was good but VEEEEEEEEERY sad and incomplete IMHO)

SPOILERS ABOUT RK'S ENDING BELOW DO NOT READ ON IF YA DON'T WANNA KNOW

Ok, so he dies of leprosy right, and tis really sweet that Kaoru makes love to him so she shares his pain and eventually she probably dies too but:

His son is a fucker, he hates his dad...WTF!?
The ending does not explain why Zanza is in China, and where are all the other main characters...
Its a gay ending...Kenshin should live...the ending reaaaaly made me sad and Im still sad (just saw it a few days ago) sad ending indeed...Kenshin dies and the legendary Hitokiri Battousai is forgotten, fuck that"

So like I said......the ending of Kenshin must be remade.....and there is 15 years between the series and the ending OVA so many mroe space for story

Im just suprised that you like eva but not lain since they both have very deep storylines (and prob require you to be taking the same drugs as the author to fully grasp them

)

I agree that Trigun was a little predictable, but most stories are. I guess I just like comedy/dramas that can have some debth to their chars & story and yet make you laugh as well

It's all just our opinions, of course.

Eva was complex but very theme-related - you didn't need to follow every detail to be entirely swept up in the introspection towards the end.

An anime forum would be quite nice.

Indeed, apparently the dude says hes not gonna make any more Kenshin stuff...but SONY still have the rights to Kenshin, then again they made the unofficial ending so I can't expect anything of the same class as the original OVA and series from them story wise.

I really think Kenshin rules...I want more episodes, I wish there was a huge petition asking for more

If you are interested in watchign quality anime I cna throw you some names...not everyone likes anime so you may be watchign decent anime but it may be crap too...so yeah...

exactly, that is an great point. I think the anime that focus on plot, not action comedy or anything else first are the ones i tend to like more.

comedy and action should both be used when necessary, but if theres a good story, theres usually a great anime.

Azumanga Daioh is a really funny series. There's really no story behind it all, it's geared only towards making you laugh. It's about some junior high/high school girls and their every day school life with a perverted principal, legally insane teachers, etc...

A great series for those of you looking to laugh.

Seeing some cartoon guy, with STUPIDLY big eyes, shooting lasers out of his fingers will NEVER be as impressive or awe-inspiring as effects seen in The Matrix, T2 (and thats like 12 years old!) and just any martial arts film with wires. Real Actors CAN defy the laws of physics (Wires and CG) and look a million times better than Anime. Even 'The Killer' which has zero special effects, and no defying of physics, is impressive. If you can show me an Anime cooler than Chow-Yun Fat in a suit with 2 berettas, obviously shooting shit up, then I'll have a look!

Oh yeah thats right, its absulutely true all anime characters can have huge eyes, they can also do DBZ shit and all that...yeah of course [/sarcasm]

Dude, if you watch Dragon Ball Z and consider that to represent anime then you are sadly mistaken

I do have some of that!
It is very very funny, just wish I could find more (dont have much/dont know how much there is out there)

another one along that line is 'Child's Toy', very funny, but no real point to anything.

Onizuka, I find that there are some great animes out there that can do both (Eva, Chobits, etc), and that is the buity of some of the anime, the stories are soo good that they have all of the goodness in them at once.
