Last time they said a couple weeks was in the first week of June in regards to beta starting. Seeing as the soonest it will start is the end of July, "weeks" could mean a month or two even. I doubt it will take over a month though due to the apparent 2012 release and the want for open beta.

Ah that's worded much better, still though I wouldn't be surprised if its at least 3 weeks before all the priority keys are in. Not much longer though!

I'm going to be an ass and continue to assume that beta actually started the moment he got his hair cut.

But it sounds like the official beta will be starting soon.

I can't see why they wouldn't ramp up quickly in the form of daily invites barring any issues. "Active users" will probably be covered in the first wave, likely with more than enough room to spare for retired vets too. Starting on day two, the retiree's are invited until their numbers are depleted.

Then SOE will start going through all the priority keys. After that, they may just go open beta for all of the randoms that signed up without a key.

I fully expect to be playing Planetside 2 by the end of next week

I know... I'm only setting myself up...

I'm thinking two-three weeks till vets are done. I know SOE is shooting for faster than that though.

Yeah, we've got a firm Beta date and I feel more uncertain than ever.

If the wait to Beta hadn't been so strung out, I think I wouldn't be so discouraged.
