Your spot in the upcoming Guild Wars 2 Beta Weekend Event has been reserved!

This Beta Weekend Event begins Friday, July 20, at noon PDT (GMT -7) and ends Sunday, July 22, at 11:59 p.m. PDT (GMT -7).

If this is your first Guild Wars 2 beta, visit https://account.guildwars2.com/download to download the client. To log in, use the same account name and password that you created when you registered your Guild Wars 2 account.

Participants of previous events may be able to simply run and patch their existing client.

We recommend that you begin pre-loading the client as soon as possible, periodically checking for updates, so you're ready to start playing when the event begins.

Visit our Beta Forums at http://forum.guildwars2.com for more information about the beta event itself, using the same log-in credentials mentioned above. Please note that you will only be able to browse the forums for now; commenting and posting will be enabled when the Beta Weekend Event begins.

they go hand in hand in your universe I'm sure but that's not reality dev process and server and pr team's are just that different team's =3 your universe must a dark and sad place >.> i fear to tread there =x to get the brit's and all those lovely people in to the beta have lil to do with the game dev team or the beta other then (dev team) :do we send beta invite's to the brit's? yeah sure they can give us feed back like everyone else. server admin make sure the server's are up to spec so we can have them play (server admin): ok on it. 5 min convo not end of the world or setting back months of dev work XD. now could there be problem's with cross ocean server play HELLLLLLLL YEAH,
but that's what beta is for we need to know if it is a problem so we can fix it =3

I'm not saying the Euros shouldn't get into the beta, but that they shouldn't feel entitled to it. If the developers want to go out of their way to use the beta to keep their potential customers happy, more power to them.

not sure if a 5 min convo is *out of the way* but should they get in cause their brit's? no they shouldn't. should they have the same fair chance we do uhhh yeah?

If there is no problem with coordinating a technical beta with Euros, then they wouldn't have anything to worry about in the first place.

I'm sure there will be some its bloody beta lol so if you can't connect to the beta we should leave your ass behind? good rule =3 point of beta : find problem's FIX them before the game launch's not make people happy, fix it so people will be happy =3.

Well, this is half true and half false. For one, potential customers aren't entitled to the beta, but if you got in then you should be treated the same as the other beta testers. And, in a way, as a potential customer, I get to see what I'd potentially be spending my money on. A big part of this is how they handle our EU server, because if we encounter more problems than our counterparts and they don't make it work, then I would not be spending money on a product I cannot fully enjoy. Sure, it's still a beta and I haven't forgotten that part, but PS2 is still PS2 even in CBT, more or less. And first impressions are the ones that stick to you.
