pah, if YOU get your hands on a computer with beta access, WE would all be like the minions going for a BANAAAAANAAAAAAA!!!

this really looks beta-ready! seeing several computers in a row all with the launcher/patcher onscreen feels great! really looking forward to witness some actual combat!

Yep, I am expecting some 5 to 10 minute videos today of some action. Since we only saw 5 computers. My guess is that the guys in the office today for SOE are gonna get to play the beta all day long while the convention is going on. That way they have more than 5 or 6 people running around in the game shooting each other. lucky bastards.

If it isn't so much to ask, I would like to ask this:

About skill trees, can we max out every tree with enough time, experience, and effort? Or are we limited to a few trees with a recertification option like Planetside 1?

Haha yeah, I saw that in another thread. I can't wait!!! A good 10 minutes each of all 3 factions fighting would be awesome. Hopefully we see some base captures and such. How the resources will work. I'm really hoping for this video of the demo to clear up alot of questions today.

Tuesday, 8 PM PST: A PlanetSide meetup! For anyone who will be in San Francisco, it's at a bar called the Thirsty Bear and is right next to the Moscone Center. There will be devs and PS fans there, so it should be a good time.

I dont know what talk time you press guys get, but its obvious that you will cover more general questions for your readers, to inform them about the general idea of Planetside 2, rather than the specific details of certain game aspects.
But, if you got the time, get yourself to that bar. We have folks from Planetside Universe and /r/planetside there, chilling with the devs, drinking beer, and having a short QnA with them. So you may just pop up there, if your not to busy.

We put a list of questions together on /r/planetside and here on PSU. Some of them get asked, other not, depens fully on the situation.

Im really hoping you have have a heavy assault weapon with medium assault armor! I like my chain gun/medium armor load out in ps1

My guess is that you can equip quite any small caliber weapon with any armor, but Heavy Assault weapon will have a reduced accuracy or reduced rate of fire with light assault armor, or HA weapon will greatly reduce speed with light armor.

So what is the deal?

Does Smed's and the Marketing dept. have Higgles so locked down that all we get is screen shots anymore? I don't mind the screen shots, and by no means am I complaining about the interaction between Higgles in the community. Higgles interaction with the core community is now the benchmark for actively engaged with your player base, a job well done.

My concern is the lack of action videos which doesn't give away the farm. Basically we have the trailer and the three faction load out videos. For a game that should be progressing to a closed beta, one would think that they hype machine would be putting in some work and releasing some video clips for consumption.

I draw a comparison to Guild Wars 2, which recently lifted the NDA on the closed Devs and Industry beta cycle. The amount of game footage for that title has increased exponentially recently in support of the impending large closed beta cycle.

So what is the deal Higgles? Can you not talk about or show video of Fight Club, or are we really that far away from beta?

Other then that concern I think you and your teams efforts to keep the community feed and involved has been commendable. Keep up the quality work, and maybe throw us a video bone from time to time...
