Well that's one problem down. The other is persuading my parents. And after 2 years of persuading them to buy a new GPU, I doubt I'll work.

Dice didn't give out a date for BF3's actual closed beta... The BF3 "Beta" you're refering too was more of a pre-release promotional demo. Guild wars 2 "Beta week-ends for pre-orders" (DEMO) had a date, their closed beta didn't. The secret world didnt' have a date for their closed beta aswell.

To anybody brining negativity to this thread. You are a moron.

This is fantastic news for everybody who has every been involved with Planetside. And to back RadarX up, this is a nice gesture, time will be spent making this happen at SOE. Thats employee time (that will cost money) to give something back to a community that started 9 years ago and all for FREE!

Well done SOE. You have listened to everybody, and only those like hamma etc will know exactly how good you have listened.

Hope to see you all in the sanc on july 1st!

I think that was a pretty lame response, the people who are unhappy are the people who are passionate enough to complain.

And to be fair, we had a good reason to complain as we thought PS1 vet's were'nt being included.

And now we know, we're happy too

will the people who get chosen for the tech test phase be people who activated keys already?

and why do you say the external beta test is here if the letter states that it will be a later beta phase?

got a little confused haha,

but i think with the external test most people understood taht that is when you are actually able to download the client and log in to the servers ...
or does this mean something else?

To mirror what some others have said, close betas rarely get dates...open betas do.

Sure I want to get in and play the beta, but I appreciate that it takes time for a game to be ready for that stage and I'm happy to wait until it is. Plus, someone previously mentioned about the game losing steam since E3...well yeah, but a beta is not going to fix that. The point of a beta is to mass test the game to make sure it works, not to market the game (although admitably some companies do treat beta as a demo these days.)

Nah demonicale, I don't mean to be offensive but a few people in this thread just flipped a shit and posted. Passion can often be confused with obsession, two very different things in my opinion. Not that I blame you, if there has to be an obsession I suppose it is best it is about PS2

Hamma knows what he is talking about though, in terms of forum behavior.
