Same here. I occasionally crash out for 10-12 hours after a few months of 6 hours a night, but it's generally enough, I find

I'm off work 'till 21st August (regular rota downtime), here's hoping I get in early enough to make all that free time count towards bug squashing!

I'll do my part!

It's called crunch time in the industry. It's when you got a bunch of weird-looking all running around like headless chickens in an office, none of which slept for the last day or three, but still you're getting 8 days of work done in 20 manhours every day. Everybody is super-focused, no normal conversations are taking place - what you'd hear sounds like moonspeak but is in essence the purest possible distillation of industry, tech and project terms. Everybody looks kind of absent, even when taking to each other maintain no eye contact, staring into the distance or into computer screens/whiteboards/notes, all minds being in the flow and fixated solely on the project. The office may or may not have a smell of red bull, nootropics or medical-grade amphetamine sulfate.

Get used to it... The tests usually begin at 10pm GMT and finish around about 5am our time.

I'm wondering why all of you are so jumpy about the day today... probably only a small percentage of you are going to be playing the beta today. I for my part am nailing my "beta-date" down to the end of the month XD

I get it - there is a special kind of excitement when you start DLing the client from the PS2 launcher.

cause it's what we have all been waiting for, if we get in or not matters less then the fact that the ball is gonna start rolling.

oh and the tech testers will all get into beta and i'm sure there are quite a few of them in here

Never-neverland?

Also of note is that during this period the combination of extreme focus on the project, sleep deprivation and stuff that prevents you from falling unconscious on your desk makes people say truly bizarre things. Nobody pays any attention at the time but after you've handed the project over and are recouperating, at some random point downing a beer on your hammock you'll recall what you heard in the office and do a flat WTF.

Sleep-tweeting? Or does he lackey to do it for him at half three in the morning? No sane CEO should be up at that hour surely.

UK is on BST at present so, 10 pm and 11 pm for central Europe

I wish they'd upload a client before the beta starts. But anyways, what class will you guys be going as? I'm a bit stuck at choosing between an Inf and an Engi, if the engi has a Automatic turrent, then I'd go with him.

I'll just go with whatever is needed instead of pigeonholing myself into something specific. Naturally I'll probably have something I'll end up preferring over others, but we'll see.

As for preloading client.. I got a 1mbit net, but luckily I have most of the client on my computer due to a friend coming by over a weekend and playing the test on my computer.. So it will only take me maybe a few gigabytes at max depending how much new thing is implemented before I get to play.
