The videos illustrated how AV weaponry on infantry could shred tanks. This seems to be understood for PS2, which is why efficient AV does not appear to be widely available on all classes (namely Heavy Assault and MAX have it from what we've seen).

But that was back in the day when people actually played planetside before the BFRs and the large cert pools, etc. It was also before the prowler received buffs (too little, too late).

2-man prowler + 1 AV infantry > 3-man prowler.

The third gunner was meaningless.

What buffs did the Prowler receive exactly?

No he proved that critical mass with any weapon annhilates tanks, demonstrating it both with the phoenix and the striker, meaning any large infantry group can take tanks out of the equation. I believe this is also why tanks in PS2 have Anti-Infantry configuration options to help counter precisely that situation.

The reason TR footzerged was because their tank was a steaming pile of shit and wasn't competitive to the other two tanks. That takes us back to the topic of the thread.

So is the Prowler going to suck like it did in PS1 and relegate TR into a footzerg?

You forget something. Phoenix users do not advance but sit tight. Striker users use them on the move.

Prowlers did not suck. Whatsoever.

So we have numbers in this thread that prove beyond any reasonable doubt that the Prowler did not suck. Are you really so stubborn that you can't stop clinging to a point of view that has been proven wrong? Or is it all about gratifying yourself by 'being right at any cost?

All the tryhard 1337 posts aside, you haven't been able to muster one single argument, based on anything other than your opinion, about why the Prowler 'sucks'. All of the posts made by the reasonable people here agree that if you had to rank the tanks it would probably come in last place, but it wasn't a blowout.

Players on the TR whined and bitched about the Prowler for ages. I just wrote it off as whiny bitching because everyone I played with agreed, they were just whiny bitches.

They did, but it was uncommon and for the novelty/comedy factor. Sort of like killing someone with a beamer.

The Magrider was king due to it's speed, maneuverability and accuracy at range. Saying the Prowler sucks is utterly laughable.

What I really don't get is why all the pre-whining? Balance will be addressed in Beta.
