OOps, didn't read earlier parts of this thread to see Skit already posted my command center.

Granted, you'll spend as much on a 27" or 30" IPS monitor as you would on a 60" TV, but after using mine for a year plus change, it's hard to look at anything else.

120hz monitors are nice too, despite the loss in color quality, but they're stuck at 1920x1080. Once 120hz 2560x1440 screens become a reality, then I might grab one to pair with my IPS panel.
Bigger isn't necessarily better. 1920x1080 is really plenty fine for me, and it's a resolution that is a good compromise between performance and quality. Sure you can push it to ridiculous resolutions but it comes at a performance cost and IMO the benefit isn't there, especially with antialiasing making it indistinguishable. This TV is also 240 hz.

Malorn is that real 240Hz for FPS? From what I understand the majority of TVs are still locked at 60Hz, but do some gimmick to say it has such huge refresh rates.

240 is limited to movies.

I don't understand 240hz, except as marketing hype. 120hz is well beyond something a person can distinguish and gets you a nice multiple of 24, 30, and 60.

And honestly 240hz makes everything look like it was recorded with a home video camera from the late 80's.

And yeah maybe im too close, too much radiation and all, but hey i dont want kids anyway so i consider that a perk. And yes this is a passive 3D tv too, so simple theater glasses and PS2 will look like its in my room. =D

For scale comparison, what seems to be a teeny monitor next to the big one has a decent 22" screen. And yes, my new setup im workin on will step me back from the tv a bit, but this works for now. =)

Malorn - I swear I think I have that EXACT same chair. When I move this setup i may have to do what you did with the mounts, currently i have to use a roll out chair so it doesnt block the tv when we sit on the loveseat in the background.
