Show off your Nationality

When it comes down to customisation, I alway love to up a flag on my uniform or vehicle. Anyone know that we can do this? It would also be awesome if we could put a nation flag icon next to our names ingame

Kinda ruins the immersion to have modern country flags on uniforms.

You are a drone of the faction you choose. No country flags in game, SOE should ban them for custom graphics. It breaks the fourth wall. Breaking the fourth wall is bad, it destroys immersion.

That said, I'll allow them on stats screens. It'll help players trying to voip up, particularly for Euro servers. I don't want to see them in more than one place though.

First of all, in Planetside you are part of your faction or outfit. Country should not play a role.

Second, Planetside is set hundreds of years in the future, your country probably does not exist anymore after the Terran Republic took control of earth.

Third, no one cares as this does not add anything to the game.

Seriously, Magpie, think before you suggest one of your idiotic ideas.

I like the idea, it's nice to be able to show some Finnish colors in APB!

It's also in my back on the "tactical vest" but barely visible from that angle.

The image itself isn't really "related", just took one I had around to show

But if anyone cares wtf is happening in that picture. The clan mate I was playing with went AFK and while I was waiting for him I tried to ram over him with my car. So I NOSed up the few stairs and somehow my car got stack between the wall and the vendic machine, right above him. My friend was merrily AFK while he had a flaming car hanging right above him

I think the nationalism argument is quite ridicilous. I do sorta agree to a point with the immersion breaking thing though and perhaps it's better off that you cant put em on customizations then, but I think on player profiles etc you could choose to show it, perhaps.

The fact that I greatly dislike nationalism doesn't even factor in the simple observation that showing off nation colors will break the immersion of the game.

No no Skitrel, it's actually one of the most efficient and passive forms of perpetual griefing.

Think of the comedy and grief potential of people who die or lose an objective to a guy draped in the glorious American flag. It would just make all the non-Americans jealous of our country writhe in anger, and make the self-loathing Americans froth and vomit.

It's like giving half the PS2 population the finger constantly. It would be glorious!

Yeah sure it might break immersion and really has no viable reason to ever be in the game, but think of the grief it will cause!

If I could have an NC flag, that would be kinda cool though. Don't know where it would go though. Flags in general probably won't be something we see waving around on every tank/soldier.
