nothing wrong with some free or even exclusive cosmetics.
almost all games have some exclusive stuff for preorders or other premiums, and most of them even gamechanging stuff.
gamechanging stuff is a bad idea for ps2, but a special berret or the golden weapon skins or whatever cosmetical item would be nice. veterans can show their pride and newcomer don´t miss out on something big.

name + outfit name reservation sound logical.

Next to that, some sort of extra patch on the arm/armor would be nice I guess.
It's still up to the devs though, no matter how much it's discussed here

Right, but it does not hurt to give idea's since they do actually read stuff here

that´s what we are doing in 90% of all threads here

"it´s up to the devs" applies to everything regarding ps2.
but higby told us, that he loves our feedback, info and our flood of ideas, so we will keep doing it. and since they already stated that they want to give something to their veterans we love to speculate, give ideas and make wishes.

The best way to do a reward for a Vet is create something for the Vets, and give it to the Vets for FREE

BUT

Allow new players to PURCHASE it in the game store as well. Vets get a freebie, but new guys aren't left out. They can buy it. This is more fair because they can make more money this way (IE - we're supporting the game by letting our "reward" be purchased by others) and we still get something out of it.

Like, make it not directly reference playing PS1, but being experienced with Planetside as a whole? I like that idea.

I believe its already been stated that PS1 vets will get some sort of reward (aside from priority beta access) - so, post-release, what would you like to see as your reward?

For me:
* I think it probably has to be something cosmetic, not power giving.
* It has to be something other people can see if you want them to (not just a medal graphic on an obscure screen that only you see)
* It has to be something you aren't going to replace immediately because there's something else for sale that's way cooler. (Or maybe something like an arm-patch that takes a slot that you can't otherwise upgrade so that displaying your vet status isn't a tradeoff for buying other cool things.)

I mean, that's just my opinion - but if there's to be an item reward, what would you appreciate?

Let me keep my backpack, Shinguards, glasses, beret and earpiece.

A title or funny skin maybe, nothing more. PS1 players will be an extreme minority in PS2 even if every single one of them returns.

Veterans shouldn't receive anything that would irritate the main player base which will be new people.

1. our PS1 name(s)
2. something cosmetic (that won't be immediately be replaced by something new and better)
3. something silly like a unique emote, voice macro, or an active ability (fireworks?)

I want something that lets everyone know "I was there. I'm a veteran of PlanetSide." I want people who missed out on the experiences of the first one to come up to me and show their admiration.
