Yes indeed, but SOE have already shown they are prepared to reunite players who have had "their" name taken.

Names will be first come first serve when the system goes live and we obviously regret the confusion this caused. Something slipped up on the site that wasn't ready to go.

Not sure why you cant just check out accounts. All PS1 vets have had the same names now for a decade. New Alpha squad players should be first com, AFTER vets.

So does this mean it's one char per server, per account, or will you be able to pay for an alternate on another server; in case your primary stomping ground is offline for maintenance?

You just get to reserve one name.

Names are unique across servers I believe so you only need it once.

I've reserved my name correctly the first time, but to do it twice, no spelling errors, no accidentally hitting enter on the third letter, what they ask is madness.

edit: nvm, found it. you guys switch on the 4th this month. So the missing hour i have right now will be gone by then. Good stuff.
