I realy dont think it will bring back players who left the game because they didnt like it, but, most likely, it will piss off players who are still playing and paying and didnt get sh*t.
Didn't expect anything like this after the "cert refund" disaster.

Fools...
I actually thought the thread was void of waaa and people just wanted an explanation.

I find it funny you didnt reply in the same manner over on Reddit, or you're craving upvotes over there so its different.

Think of it as a trial membership, just last week I got an email for my LinkedIn account for a free month of their premium account. I highly doubt that the people who already pay for the premium account will get a free month. I also understand that there are differences between the LinkedIn and ps2 promos but the same basic concept is there.

I do not mind small giveaways as long as it does not grant the non paying customers access to the premium queue. I found it quite rediculous to see the high number count in queue this weekend due to the bundle.

Theres a difference, a huge difference.

The SOE thing here, the thing people complain about, is people getting nothing because they did their first purchase after April 3rd.

The Pro7 thing on the other hand is people who did their first purchase before april 3rd, BUT did another one after it. If you would have done that on a SOE account, everything would be fine, because you got stuff.

The thing is pretty simple: You didnt lost anything. You still have exactly the stuff you should have. Some peole just got something for free tho, you didnt. Complaining about this would be like complaining about the fact that some Hobo gets money for free from random people while you dont.

However, as said above, the pro7 thing is different. If it would have been like it is for SOE customers, then everything would be fine. If it would have been for SOE customers like it is for Pro7 customers, then it would also be fine, even tho a bit iffy to do. But its different. Its two different situations, making Pro7 customers the loosers here. They didnt got the free stuff not because they made their first purchase after April 3rd like SOE customers, but because they made ANOTHER purchase after april 3rd. One could say, and this is certainly what a lot of people say right now, that a lot of folks didnt got free stuff because they went with Pro7 and not with SOE. And that is the problem i care about.

But yes, its all about the upvotes. Some day i download a car from all those upvotes. I should propably switch to the cat picture business first tho.

not true... paid members no longer get the queue priority like they used to over non-paid members. So what we paid for is not the same as it was a week ago.

It would be like if you bought a quick line pass for Disney world in advance and then the day you show up to use it it turns out its free quick line pass day and you have to wait in long lines because everyone has the quick line pass. You are the sucker that paid for the quick line pass which is esentially worthless now.

If it wasn't for the queues, no one would even notice how many people got the free month. How could I tell the guy next to me is getting an exp bonus? But the fact is, dumping this many members on the game has lowered the value of the membership, so we have lost something.

So I agree... its silly to complain about people getting the cert and xp bonus others are getting for free b/c who cares. But I also think its okay to be annoyed about the queues sucking for a month. I am not going to lose any sleep over this so I am dealing with it, but I just wanted to explain to people that the paid members are in fact losing something.

I think (and was originally under the impression) that everyone received this month free regardless of whether their sub was active or not. In fact I noticed one of my subs expired June 1st and assumed they tacked the month onto my existing sub. Are we sure of this?

Either way, I'm not sure why there needs to be so much hate. I have had two subscriptions since release and happily support SOE and this game. When something like this happens, I look on the bright side and hope that it brings more members (back) into our community, thank them for the opportunity to switch my subs to $9.99 per month, and get some pretty cool free camos to boot.

It has nothing to do with being happily bent over, it just requires a lot more to drive me into the sort of rage that I see from some people. Half full vs. half empty eh?

Fine print, must be read:

The Loyal Soldier Plan offer is available to all accounts and expires on June 1, 2013 at 11:59 PM PST. If you currently have a Premium Membership and you purchase the Loyal Soldier Plan, you will be charged immediately and three months of additional membership time will be added to your existing membership. The Loyal Soldier Plan will automatically renew at the same promotional price until canceled.

As it stands right now, current premium members are not getting the month free. I paid for a 3 month plan on 4/11 and it exipres 7/11. It didn't get extended to 8/11 even though I got the player reward camo.

I agree people like myself are overreacting... its just a game and we are talking about $15 tops here. But most people are not upset b/c others are getting something free, they are mad b/c what they pay for is being diminished b/c they no longer have the queue priority they paid for. It would be like buying a cable package and then a month later they give it away free for a month, but remove ESPN b/c too many people are now in the system. I agreed to pay $15 a month for all the perks of membership, but now I don't get one of them for a month.

Someone mentioned that Higby said in the chat that current members would get their accounts extended to account for the free month but I haven't had a chance to watch the video yet.

Well, you do still get queue priority. There's just more people in line. It's like going to your favorite theme park with fewer in attendance but the park gave all past customer's of the park a free pass for a month (and only that month). But, I see what the complaining is about. But don't complain too hard, what's so bad about having more people in-game to play against? This is a pure PvP game. You want more people to play with/against. I suppose if server is full that could be an issue though. We need more continents if that's the case...

It's more like I've had a season pass for a year and it ended on April 4th. On May 3rd they decide to give everyone a free day pass for their "Loyalty" but I'm excluded because I had a sub after April 3rd, so I still have to pay while everyone gets free time.

Over on reddit with Pro7.

Pro7 people must have lost something, unknown at this time.
The differences couldn't be clearer if it was written in Yiddish.

Just a note in the Pro7 accounts - there was a hitch there, the actual plan is to have Pro7 accounts granted the items using the same criteria as SOE accounts. The current discrepancy here was not deliberate. I'm hoping to have the accounts that should have the items granted (but who have as yet not received them) within the next few days.

Theres a difference between what SOE players and Pro7 players get. Thats the problem.
You here argue about the fact that people got something for free at all.
