So apparently "Twist" is looking into things?

On reddit (of course...) a SOE official named "Twist" said he would look into the wasp problem (and possibly CC?) in an unrelated thread. Thanks go to BastiVS here who asked him about it.

http://www.reddit.com/r/Planetside/c..._thing/ch81a53

It all seemed quite vague though, so i was kind of surprised when everyone in the game yesterday was all like "woo CC is coming back and Twist is totally going to completely fix all issues". And i wondered where all that super specific information was coming from.
So, what's the deal here? Is someone in touch with twist? Is he trying to fix all the current issues (I.e. wasp, striker, CC, party drops)? Did he allready fix the wasp bug? (because it seems to be gone)

On that note, some kind of gm support would be very welcome too, what about that?
Because currently if you happen to run into hackers or deliberate teamkiller squads all you can do is go somewhere else (good luck with that), go afk or log off. Which is not exactly an ideal solution.

For the record, SOE_Twist is the CTO of SOE. It's about as official as it gets.

OP, look here: http://www.planetside-universe.com/s...ad.php?t=58164

We tried to get whatever information we could gather, so SOE has an easier job. The wasp bug appears to be fixed now, but there is no official word from SOE that they actually did something. So there may be some behind the scenes stuff happening, or maybe the game just decided to fix itself, who knows.

Tom: Holy cow, its been AGES since someone of you folks posted on PSU. Good to see that you folks are still around.

I'm happy to see some of SOE still cares for us wretches down in Planetside 1, although I know an ETA is out of the question, though supposedly 2 weeks is the rumor.

I just want to see the rumor put to bed.

2 weeks for what? Planetside to be fixed? Although I doubt anything more will get done, what's the point of playing if there is no anti-hacking support?

The hackers just want us to leave so the game dies.

I say deny them.

@Cycles: Sweet stuff, V-V-E hehe.
Maybe, if you are in contact with Twist or meet him at your local SOE waterhole sometimes, could you ask him if he would be willing to give us a short update/overview on the status of things when he had a look and has a minute? Because that would be V-V-F man.
On that occasion you could also convey our gratitude and give him a hug from us...or whatever gratitude-conveying action he could like.

@Basti: Yeah, i know that, i posted in the very thread you linked.

@SArais: That rumor is exactly the kind of super specific information that made me wonder where it is coming from.

Speculation maybe?

There were hackers in 2008 that cited that reason to try and kill the game (at the time they wanted to hurt SOE by reducing the amount of subbed people, which of course would be a ridiculous reason now, even more than it was then).

There is also still the question concerning any form of policing the server, i.e. GM support. What's the info on that, because the last i really read somewhere (rumors aside) was that there is none.
Some way of removing hackers would be very welcome though, atleast for the weekends when we have a somewhat decent population.

I know legal stuff might prevent SOE from assigning this task to the players themselves (allthough we are known to be a silent bunch *hint* *hint* ), but any GM stuff would be cool, so what official info do we have on that?

Agreed. Fixing the game won't matter if hackers are able to kill off the playerbase. Had two hackers in an hour this day and it just totally killed the mood for me. I'd rather have the odd bit of broken equipment and enjoy base take overs then have hackers ruin the game altogether.

Good to know at least one person is looking into things though. But the focus really needs to be on the hackers.

Yeah, We need to have a way to police the game.

We had a big fight going earlier than one hacker came out of nowhere and ruined it.

SOE really should just give GM powers to a few trusted long term players.

And ones who are respectful and kind to fellow players/GMs

God I really want to see CC and BFRs back. My outfit has high desire and dependance to use them.

Anywhere we could ask Twist if he's working on those too, or was it just Wasps?
