I go into game, and every five minutes the game freezes compltely and apparently so does my comp. Or atleast the game so much i cant get to my desktop. Is this a new known issue and happening to others or..... Anyone know?
As an example i was dropping onto ceryshen a few minutes ago. I was in the pod in the air and it just froze. the other time it was just when the sanc load bar was filling coming into the game, which i thought was a just it not loading and freezing, but apparently wasnt. Your not the only one. It's been happening to me ever since the newest patch. The game will freeze and I have no way to exit back to desktop. I have to turn the power off and reboot. The freezes occur out of nowhere and under different circumstances. I can be moving, HARTing or just standing around. I've been playing since open beta and this is the first time the game has become unplayable for me. I've turned off every option, played around with sound or lack of it, defragged and even recently reinstalled my operating system and all other software and it still happens. I made a report and I'm just sitting around waiting for the next patch. I'm jumping at the bit to get back in and play.

It's a bug, I have suddenly had the same problems. I have had it CTD on warping off continent, and freeze for no apparent reason. Heck, I was standing still in a max, waiting in a CC, doing nothing, and it froze. Had to reboot to get back in. But it is very intermittent, since I have also had long stretches (4-5 hours) with no problems.

I dont have lag issues anymore. I shrunk my screen size from 1600x1200 some time back now and they went away. But i just freeze now for no reason (the last two days about. I cant play more than 5 minutes if im that lucky). Some times i can get the toolbar and the start menu to pop up with teh game in the back. But i cant get my desktop up and cant click on anything. This time it froze up and i restarted the comp but now i cant get my comp to start in normal mode and am now typing this from safe mode. Now PS has fucked up my OS. 8\
This stuff is only an issue with PS. ITs not any other games or software. And i havent picked up any virus as far as the virus program can tell IF that means anything from a free one 8). But im going to rescan now to make sure. How reliable is microtrends Virus scan. I used to use teh pcsillian but i reformatted and cant find the thing or my subscription stuff i had. ITs expired now though i think. And jetraiden i put darhkbayne on ignore for a reason. So shutup! Last edited by Ait'al; 2004-08-09 at 05:27 AM. |

Its happening whenever its trying to load new stuff. Like when i open a door. It seems have to do with how the game deals with loading the world when going back and forth between different areas or walking and its not handling it correctly and causing the game to freeze.

Ok, I have a radeon x800 and I had the same problem with crashes
---until--- http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?id=18 1. install directx 9.0c 2. install Windows Service Pack 2 3. install latest catalyst driver (doom3 version) Hey presto, works like a dream now  hope this works for you too |
