I'm gonna put in some ram I got the info on that so I'll be up to 512 ! and a 40gb hard drive should be find right? Now is it hard to upgrade a video card or am I set with the Geforce 4 64mb 4-00 tvi out something like that I think its 4200 or 4700

should I be smooth with a networked cable modem also? I looked around and figured out how to run a cable to my computer area to make the connection more direct because its wireless at the moment

Upgrading a video card is extremely easy. You just open the case, unscrew the old one, and put in the new one, the rest is done on your computer with drivers, (which may not even get changed since you would still have an nVidia card) and there's always a tutorial on what to do included with the card you buy.

I don't totaly understand what you mean about the cable modem, but if your asking should it be ok to go from wireless to wires, yes. Depending on your ISP, you'll most likely get a speed increase.

Most wireless setups transfer data at speeds in excess of most cable modems. Since you can't go any faster than the slowest device, you shouldn't get any benefit from going "wired" straight to your desktop. Therefore, your wireless network link to your cable modem should be just fine as it is.

As far as i know (not too much) wireless connections max out at a very low stream, something like 1.3mpbs. Most cable connections are above that

802.11b is rated at 10Mbps - which in practice amounts to 4-5 - Most cable modems are below that I believe.

Yeah, I haven't looked up about that stuff for a long time. I also went snooping and found this: http://www.linksys.com/splash/wap54g_splash.asp. Quite fast

Yeah, wireless has come a long way in the last couple of years. 802.11b is practically commonplace now and the new G standard competes with 10/100 LAN cards quite well. Gigabit LAN is even becomming more popular so I wouldn't be surprised to see wireless even break into that sometime soon.

Always remember to drain your body of static electricity, as it can really mess your system up!! You can do this by "grounding" yourself....keeping a hand on the metal frame inside your pc or you can purchase a rubber type strap which goes around your wrist. Oh & unplug it too of course!!

Right. Rub it in. Flaunt it in front of everyone else while pretending to be naive...

Speaking of grouding yourself, ironically enough, they showed how to install a graphics card on "The Screen Savers" tonight. If you need some help (which I doubt you will) this might be useful:
